I read them before RotS, too. I liked them OK, but once RotS came out, they seemed inconsistent to me.
And, just for the record, I think Anakin was majorly played. Whenever I watch RotS and Palpatine says that he doesn't know the secret to immortality (or whatever), but that together he's sure they can discover how to master it, I always imagine Palatine looking at Anakin and thinking "sucker!". _________________ All things die, Anakin Skywalker, even stars burn out.
So this is how liberty dies....with thunderous applause.
