okay I',m gonna get a copy of I Jedi this weekend. It'll probably take me 6 months to read the whole book, free time to relax is mostly a pipe dream in my life these days, but I'll at least get the book started. Smile

As far as the Live Action series goes, I wonder if their new building in Singapore will help free up more resources for it. I would think having a Lucasfilm branch in Singapore helping out or taking over with animation would certainly give the other branches a break.

At this point I think they've put it off solely because of TCW. Not just to concentrate on the one product, but so they can carry on stories in TCW, maybe something like Savage and other 'minor' characters.

I entered Titan Magazine's Design a Separatist Warrior Contest (closes on April 19th) just for fun. I can't draw at all, so I will spare you my drawing submission.

But here is my character's description.

Name: Urass Haydesh, Male Thakwaash. From Thakwaa (Sector I-19 on Outer Rim Map, Star Wars Essential Atlas).

Description: At slightly over 3 meters tall and approximately 3x stronger than the normal human male, Urass would have a decided physical advantage over most opponents. His sheer physical size would also help compensate in run ins with Clone Troopers and Jedi Knights.

The most prominent characteristic of Urass and his species is the multiple minds/personalities which can be both a benefit and a curse. The minds allow with the proper training specialization in various areas.

Primary Weapon: Vibrosword or Slugthrower, depending on which personality is in control.

Backstory: Separatist Aide-de-camp to Count Dooku. Dooku found Urass while on a recruiting mission for the Separatists on the planet Thakwaash. Urass was a deeply troubled young man. His father Morass had a mind that was a violent alcoholic and one night killed Urass' mother (Neenah), when Morass awoke the next day he could not face what he had done and fled. Urass alone and scared suffered a mental break where his core mind detached itself and prevented him from exerting control over his various minds.

Dooku found the troubled youth and promised to use the Force to help heal his mind in return for aiding the Separatist cause.

The Most prominent member of Urass' species is the Wraith Squadron pilot, Hohass "Runt" Ekwest.

New opinion piece by me regarding James Luceno's Darth Plagueis novel and my fear that it will not be able to meet expectations.

I Jedi was an awesome read, it was nice to get a full introduction into Corran Horn like we did. The only series that I was a little disappointed in was the Dark Nest trilogy. But even the Dark Nest trilogy was more enjoyable than anything else I have read outside of our sacred Star Wars universe.

Man it really is truly nice to be communicating with some true ner'vods. I have been a huge fan for over thirty years and it has been extremely harder over time to communicate with people who do understand the incredible universe that we all have such a passion for.

Cheers to everyone in EU Cantina Forums it is a pleasure Smile

I'm with you, Boba. I loved I, Jedi. It was the first book I'd read. While I didn't get all of the references, it cemented my love for Star Wars. Then I read the Thrawn books, then I, Jedi again, and got more out of it. Then I read JAT and then I, Jedi again, and got more out of it, then the Rogue Squadron series, then I, Jedi, and got more out of it!

I'm still not sure about DN. While I guess it was good enough, I read it right after I had finished reading the NJO series in its entirety, so I was somewhat flagging in my desire to read more.

But you have me beat on the thirty years thing. When I got back into SW, I had a support system in the guise of the TOS (the official forum). But, yeah, I had no one in 'real life' to talk to. Tried to tell my sister about all the happenings, but she kept on calling Isard 'Eddie Izzard', and labeled the events of Vortex as boring...

Hmm. You raise some good points there, Rattling. Though I'd like to argue one point. I'm sure, in the process of writing the book, they consulted with Lucas, so if he did want to tell the story in another form later down the line, it won't be wholly different.

Ydo bring up a lot of good points I hadn't considered regarding this book... The utter weightlessness of the 'Falcon' storyline especially. Talk about a big disappointment. I liked 'Rise of the Dark Lord' at lot but his work is pretty hit and miss.

I just have to hope this book lives up to the cross it is that Luceno has to bear. No pressure or anything, bro, but this is a huge moment for you.

Not totally pleased with my execution on this. But its an in-universe Fanfic newspaper report regarding Anakin Skywalker's origins. Inspired by Obama's birth certificate controversy.

nice work! I dunno why you're not happy with it but methinks it's quite good.

Hehe. I quite liked it! Specifically, when you use a quote by Padme, and instead of having her focus on Anakin, 'she' includes Obi-Wan in it as well. Subtle, and well done. Though I have a question: I thought the prophecy of the Chosen One was not widely known? Of course, it was widely known to Jedi, because it was in their manual, but I always thought it was not widely known that Anakin was associated with the prophecy?
