The book forum has a thread to discuss non-Star Wars books, and I thought it would be fun to make a similar one here too.

Are there any non-Star Wars games you've played recently? Games you're looking forward to? Games we should avoid at all costs?

I've been playing Portal 2 this past week, and I've been having sooooooo much fun with it. The game is so well designed and written that my wife actually enjoys watching me play. That hasn't happened since inFamous and the first Portal.

I wholeheartedly recommend anyone and everyone to get it for whatever system they own. But watch out for PC users: I think the system requirements are a tad steep (I bought it for my PS3).

See I've heard nothing but good about Portal 2 and I loved the first one. I'll be playing it asap.

I've been playing Batman: Arkham Asylum recently. Its been excellent. I've been playing on my friend's xbox 360 and its convinced me that eventually I need one. I love Batman and this is the only good Batman game so far (in my opinion anyway).

What, you don't rate Lego Batman? Wink

Currently (and still playing, from my last post) Civilization: Revolution.

I believe there's also a non-SW game thread in the Mos Eisley Cantina forum: http://www.eucantina.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1027

I beat Portal 2 last week. It's still somewhat on the short side but it's pretty fun and it has good writing. The ending was really good in that I feel stupid for not predicting it beforehand. I haven't had the opportunity to do the co-op yet.

Best. Game. Ever! And funny that you say the requirements are steep. I didn't even think to look, but I haven't had a problem with it. *pause* Yay! Smile

I could talk all day long about the game, but I have never been more pleased by an anticipated sequel. I can honestly say it's one of the best games I've ever played. No question. Smile

I'm glad you had no problem with it. I haven't tried the PC version yet (PS3 copies come with codes to get it on the PC too!) but it claims to need a 3.0 GHz processor, and mine's a 2.7. Not sure how relevant that is, but small numbers aren't as good as big numbers.

But I've found myself quoting Wheatley all week. "Don't be alarmed! But if you are alarmed, try and hold onto that. Because being alarmed is the correct response when someone tells you you've got brain damage."
