Having just read the announcement of Star Wars Kinect on the main page, I then went to look around here for the thread, but, to my surprise, there was none! So, here it is!

I, for one, will most likely not be getting this, sadly. However, I'm still quite excited by the announcement of what appears to be a 'core' game for Kinect - an add-on which, to the best of my knowledge, has no current core games out. But two things stood out, while I watched the gameplay videos.

One, that the graphics seemed quite rubbery - a step back for this generation of gaming (though may be explained by Kinect programming taking up a lot of disc space - which sounds worse!). Two, that it appears to be 'on the rails', meaning you don't move yourself, but that it moves your avatar for you. Something I'm not particularly fond of.

Now I'm wondering if I should have bought the Xbox 360 with the Kinect. Depending how good this game is, I may or may not buy a Kinect so I can play it.

Edit: so the E3 demo today showed two Sith in a scene straight out of Empire Strikes Back when Vader appears to Luke on Cloud City in the carbon freezing chamber. Not sure if this means they're throwing canon out the window or what.

Plus the gameplay looks heavily scripted. I'm not sure how much freedom you get in the levels.

As a complete game noob (the last game I played was X-Wing: Rogue Squadron with Stent), I didn't like that game had a delayed reaction with your movements, but hopefully it can be fixed.

I couldn't tell there was a delay. I doubt there'd be a delay in the final product. That would seem pretty sloppy.

Having not seen it, I can't really comment. However, that sounds like a scene that'll be utilized in co-op, so it might still be keeping in-canon.

This Stent? I can't find anything beyond that.

I'm sort of excited about this, though my sister is even more so. Though that may be because she keeps on crooning that she'll be getting Kinect before me Confused
