| Taral, get an ereader. They're not affected by postal strikes. And I can't remember the last time we had a postal strike in this country. Actually, I can't remember if we've ever had one. Government workers can't strike. |
Canada Post is technically a Crown Corporation, halfway between a government agency and a corporate entity. Gives them more leeway.
As for an ereader, they're not for me. I love owning books, in paper (ideally in hardcover). I love holding them in my hand, turning the page. Then putting it on the shelf with all the rest, looking so complete.
I see the appeal of portable ereaders (last time I went on a business trip, I brought 7 books, and was so sick I just wanted to sleep on all my downtime; meant I read maybe 100 pages of one of them). I bought my mother a Kobo (Canada's Nook) and she loves it, especially when at the cottage or otherwise traveling. But it's not for me. _________________ It was the year of fire… the year of destruction… the year we took back what was ours.
It was the year of rebirth… the year of great sadness… the year of pain… and the year of joy.
It was a new age. It was the end of history. It was the year everything changed.
The year is 2261.
The place: Babylon 5.
