For discussion of the upcoming The Hobbit film, along with its sequel. A 10-minute behind the scenes production video has been released, and it's pretty great. I'm very happy that they're doing these videos. A) I love behind the scenes for any film, but B) The Lord of the Rings behind the scenes were especially good. The Hobbit looks great from this video and it's excellent to see all of the sets and designs.

I have been so excited for this ever since the casting started and now that there are actual behind the scenes videos I'm just...I'm just so happy Smile

it was one book, why two movies?

(made sense for Harry Potter 7 to be split to two films due to the 6,000 page length of the book...)

It's great Reep. You'll love it. (Not helping, am I?)

I believe they're telling a bit of the story from the other books, just slipped into this book. Whenever they can extend the length of the film to not have to leave things out, I won't complain.

They actually split it into two movies on Del Toro's suggestion. There are several parts of the Hobbit where Gandalf disappears and the White Council is mentioned as is Necromancer (later realized to be Sauron). They decided to make the films this big so that they could include these things and lead them into LotR. I actually like this idea because they can make it as big as possible without damaging the original story, I think it'll be great.

Wow, I'm very impressed! Smile

Everything looks great... I only wish Peter Jackson would've made the Narnia movies.

So very excited! I wanna know why this kind of time and care wasn't invested in the Potter films. Would have been great. Ah well. Still thrilled to death.
