Like the Marvel ones with Fett and Leia- that has to be re-imagined as a Clone and Padme to work now, or it's an alt universe. We act like each canon doesn't act like a alt universe but in essence that's what we have. I bet if we lined up each comic that "doesn't fit" we'd have a lot more then the Marvel list you're putting up there. Granted I'd not want a bunch of alt universes if they did a Reboot- only the old EU and the new GL Signature series. Darth Skuldren Moderator Joined: 04 Feb 2008 Posts: 5774 Location: Missouri Well if everyone is throwing out ideas for a drastic change that could help serve as a good reboot point, how about the Ewoks eat Han and Luke, Leia becomes Jedi Queen of the Ewoks... Bad idea? If for some reason they do a reboot, still all wild conjecture, then I do think Taral has a point with something needs to server as a focal point for the change. I'm pretty sure Lucas would not reboot anything before ROTJ. The simple reason is that he's been playing in the prequel era so it already has his stamp. But ROTJ is a place he hasn't played around. If he was going to do a reboot, I'd see him doing something post-ROTJ. The would leave him with Luke having to rebuild the Jedi Order, Han and Leia's relationship, Palpatine clones, Thrawn, and whether Fett is going to stay dead in the Sarlacc. Would he retell a story or make his own? Who knows. _________________

And as George works in the GFFA things may get bumped again- each bump causes events to slide from the official timeline and into a alternate Universe. The events still happened, they just didn't happen in George's signature series universe. I'm betting if looked at in this way we'd learn that George's work has moved SW+SWEU into a place where alternate Universes were the only solution, and we've just been treating them as "Canon Levels" to cope with it. I hope to start getting the comics soon, and if there's some that don't exactly fit in, I may just skip them if I can. The Clone Wars references in the post ROTJ stuff wouldn't be too bad if TPTB and the authors could change them in the books themselves. I mean, the authors shouldn't have to rewrite the entire book. For example, the "years of the Emperor, forty-four" reference in Dark Force Rising. All that has to be done there is replace "forty-four" with "twenty-nine" since the Honoghr disaster has now been confirmed to take place in 20 BBY.

That suggestion there is precisely why I want to see an Essential Guide to Understanding Chronology or as I like to call it The Essential Guide to Understanding the Chronology of George's ever changing Vision. But seriously- an Online Essential Guide- one that can be changed as the man changes his vision as he goes- so as to never be out of date. Exactly why it'd NEED to be an online edition- there will always been things in the EU that haven't been gotten to yet, but as they are addressed they could be added to the Guide. Anyhoo, I've said this many a time, I'm not in favour of a reboot. I love this timeline too much, and I feel things will just get too messy, if we had 'alternate histories'. It's already confusing enough with the earlier comics. (I even had my Diver's Suit analogy quoted back to me the other day. The guy couldn't believe I was the one that came up with it! ) _________________ I am a Star Wars fan. That doesn't mean that I hate or love Jar Jar. That doesn't mean I hate or love Lucas, or agree or disagree 100% with him. That doesn't mean I prefer the PT over the OT, or vice versa. That doesn't mean I hate the EU, or even love all of it. These are not prerequisites. Being a man is not a prerequisite. Being a geek is not a prerequisite. The only prerequisite is that I love something about Star Wars. I am a Star Wars fan.

This is one decision that would definitely have to go to the top. I find it very interesting that the new Lucas Books editor made that comment.
