I've only just started reading the Harry Potter books, and I'm enjoying them (except for the second one), still haven't seen any of the movies. I hated hated the LOTR books and movies, couldn't stand them.

VileZero, sorry about that, and my apologies Padme. I did not see the dates and thought the entire topic was new because of the movie that just came out. Just like anyone else I am human, I overreact and act like a di'kut.

Ruhk, what you believe tends to define you. It's difficult, if not impossible to keep your worldview out of discussions and why should you try to keep it out? If everyone was totally objective there would be no such thing as discussion.

I missed whatever happened and am now confused.

Saw Part 7.2 last night, in what's apparently been called "Empire Extra 3D" (it's RealD-3D, but the Empire Theatres brand puts it in an IMAX-like screening room). It looked really good (and that's coming from someone who normally doesn't like 3D movies).

Thoroughly enjoyable. I'll have to look into reading the books.

I saw the movie on Friday and enjoyed it despite the changes. I thought Alan Rickman was outstanding.

Also I have to say my favorite HP book is still Prisoner of Azkaban.

PoA was good, but I still haven't forgiven the film for leaving out the Marauders.

I just have such a hard time watching these without comparing to the book. If I'm going to make good comparisons to the book, I have to make the bad ones too. And there are a lot of issues there.

I'm sure I'll think of more, but right now I'm pretty happy.

What's this talk of more books, I hear? I'd like that! Ever since the last book came out I had a thought that there'd be more books. My personal wish was for the new books to be set before the series - set when Harry's parents and Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot were at the school.

I haven't read any of the books yet, but am looking forward to it.

In an interview somewhere -- it could have been on her site -- JK Rowling said what Harry and company did between leaving Hogwarts and the epilogue.
