But honestly, what Jo has said about the character's lives in interviews isn't something I take too seriously. Until it's published in a book, I don't see why it should be a concrete fact that all fans have to accept.

I think she said these things for the same reason she wrote the epilogue. Rowling doesn't want people writing HP books. She's been very firm on that.

Some of it has to do with her need to keep interest up. She didn't release all this information at once, she's steadily leaked it since the series ended and honestly I think its just to remind people that they happened and that if you haven't read them that you need to.

I don't know if anyone here reads the articles on Cracked.com, but there are a couple of good Harry Potter ones this week:

As far as Rowling writing more books, I'm all for Marauders era. There are still plenty of things that haven't been answered about those characters.

Hopefully, if I can convince my sister to go, we'll be seeing it Friday night. Pretty excited about this!

In other news, has anyone heard that the guy who plays Draco wants to be a rapper?

I cannot picture Draco as a rapper.

Saw HP 7 Part II yesterday. Pretty good. But it reminded me how long it's been since I've read the book. I hardly remembered anything. That said, I'm pretty sure they forgot to have Hagrid's brother show up.

Speaking as someone that read only the first book, I can definitely understand why they left stuff out or changed stuff. Having not read this book, there were definitely scenes and characters in the movie that I didn't really think needed to be in it that I presumed were in it for fidelity to the novel.

It's like The Fellowship of the Ring after Frodo is stabbed by the Witch-King, in the movie Arwen takes him to Rivendale, but in the novel it's an elf named Glorfindel, whose role afterward is really minimal, so they had Arwen do it instead since she ties into Aragorn's subplot.

It's a precarious balance between tightening up the plot for the medium of film and remaining faithful to the source novel.

Laughing I'm pretty sure they forgot to have Dumbledore's backstory show up, too. Ah, but I'm trying not to complain, because I really did love it.

Shocked Oh dear. No, Draco....just no. Try it and Voldemort will hug you again! You wouldn't want that.

I knew the general plot of the story before I saw the movie, so I kind of knew when certain stuff was going to happen.
