A Boba Fett Film?

What do you guys think? For those of you who saw Captain America, would this be the right director for the film? Would you rather see a Fett film based on his early years, during the original trilogy, or EU territory?

Well, I think they'd have to be very careful with how they execute it. But I also think that, besides seasoned Star Wars fans, the general public wouldn't really want to see it. I have alot of friends who have seen the films, but 90% percent of them don't know who Fett is. The public thinks lightsabers and Jedi when they picture Star Wars, so I don't really think it would be a critical success unless marketed right.

I'd rather not see that happen. IMO there would be more that could go wrong with such a project than right. I'm afraid it would end up something like the Punisher movies from Marvel.
I for one would expect to see a certain kind of Boba Fett I'm familiar with. I wouldn't want to see a totally different Fett than the one I expected and I guess this goes for a lot of fans.
As for the non-SW fans I have to agree with Sword. A lot of folks don't even know who Fett is so I guess that would make it hard to market to the casual audience.

Yes, I'm all for more movies set in the Star Wars universe outside of the saga. And Joe Johnston developed Boba Fett as a character, so it would be interesting to see his take.

I highly doubt this would actually happen, but if it did my thoughts would be mixed. There is always the chance they would really mess up his character but if they got it right, it would be AMAZING! Cool

They should rewrite the plot to For A Few Dollars More with a young Fett in the place of Manco.

Or if it's set after Return of the Jedi, with Fett in the place of Colonel Douglas Mortimer.

I would think that a Joe Johnston directed Boba Fett feature film would be closer in feel of the original trilogy than the prequels. I'd definitely hope that it would depict a criminal underworld like that seen in Return of the Jedi with the "used future" aesthetic, even if it's closer to the prequels in the timeline.

I would be interested in seeing the Coruscant underworld depicted in that way under the Empire, although I'd also like to see more of the Outer Rim.

I don't think Lucas agreeing to a Joe Johnston directed film is out of the question, either. The two Ewok films weren't directed by Lucas and take place in the Star Wars universe. They were made-for-TV, though, and Lucas seemed to be fairly involved with the stories, although he didn't write the screenplays.

There's also the matter of them being for children, something a Boba Fett film presumably wouldn't be. Since that's also TCW's primary audience, Lucas might view Star Wars as a children's IP first and foremost, and be opposed to a more mature feature film within the IP.
