I'm tentatively curious about this. It certainly sounds like an odd book, something which appeals to me, but it'll depend on who things go next year.
At the moment I'm just contenting myself with words plays. A Hutt book by someone named Grubb. And a Jedi named Mander Zuma - which sounds a lot like Montezuma, (the name of an Incan or Azte deity) and the name of a chocolate shop in my area! Yes, I am easily amused. |
The only deity I've found with the name Montezuma is a god-hero and is the equivalent of Noah to a few tribes in the Southwest, mainly the Pueblo and Tohono O'odham. Of course, there is always Monetzuma I who was the fifth Aztec Emperor, and Montezuma II, who was the ninth Aztec Emperor at the beginning of the Spanish conquest of Mexico. Just a few little facts.
Now, back on topic. I read his books The Brother's Wars and the Ice Age cycle from the Magic: The Gathering line when they first came out (was a HUGE MTG player) and he did an amazing job with those stories, so yes, I am very excited to see one of my favorite scifi/fantasy authors dipping into another story that I love.
I dunno, I posted before what I'd like to see the book being about. Anyone else want to take a guess?
