Star Wars: Scourge by Jeff Grubb (Hutt novel)

Star Wars Books has been revealing new details about the previously unnamed Hutt novel on their Facebook page. The book will be titled Scourge and will take place before the NJO. It will also include a human Jedi Knight named Mander Zuma and the plot "It's about a murdered Jedi and the investigation into the Hutt's criminal enterprises." Will be a paperback novel, and is planned for release in April 2012.

A little early for discussion, but I do love Hutts Very Happy

Yes Hutts are never portrayed enough in Star wars and hopefully this will give us a Hutt's view on the galaxy.

Hutts- I wonder if we'll start seeing retcons now due to TCW- or if they will ignore the TCW changes to the Hutts for now and carry on as before?

Either way I'm digging the name and the plot!

Wouldn't it be something if Zuma discovers that the murdered Jedi was a spice addict and was killed because they skipped out on paying? Maybe the Jedi was sent to infiltrate the crime ring but was discovered while in deep cover and killed? Unlikely, but ya never know.

I'm tentatively curious about this. It certainly sounds like an odd book, something which appeals to me, but it'll depend on who things go next year.

At the moment I'm just contenting myself with words plays. A Hutt book by someone named Grubb. And a Jedi named Mander Zuma - which sounds a lot like Montezuma, (the name of an Incan or Azte deity) and the name of a chocolate shop in my area! Yes, I am easily amused.

Meh. I knew it was something like that, but wasn't sure. Not all that interested in that culture, beyond the architecture.

Well I'm hoping for tons of stuff on Hutts since they hyped this as a Hutt novel. I'd like to see Hutt cultural stuff, planets, names, Hutt history, etc. Would be really cool I think. Who knows, maybe they'll mention Jabba's son.
