A 27 year old heir to a sausage empire was handed a ticket for 116,000 pounds for driving at 80 km/hr in a 40 km/hr zone. This is because the speeding tickets in Finland are based on how much money a person makes.

In 1978, the World Water Speed record was made by Ken Warby from Australia. His average speed was 317.6 mph, and his jet-powered hydroplane was 27 feet long called "Spirit of Australia." Warby built the boat himself in his back yard.

The term "the whole 9 yards" came from WWII fighter pilots in thePacific. When arming their airplanes on the ground, the .50 calibermachine gunammo belts measured exactly 27 feet, before being loaded into thefuselage. If the pilots fired all their ammo at a target, it got "the whole 9yards."

If you're pizza takes longer than 30 minutes to get there, it is often free. Depending of course on the company (sometimes it's 40-45; sometimes they don't have that policy). It inspired the movie 30 Minutes Or Less.

Also, if the person who delivers the pizza and is late makes a fuss about having the pizza come out of their paycheque, they're lying. And possibly trying to scam you.

^^ Give this man points. Many points.

34.

In the movie "Evolution", David Duchovny learned that the alien life was vulnerable to Selenium, atomic number 34, much in the same way that Humans are vulnerable to Arsenic, #33.

The jersey #34 was retired by the Minnesota Twins, the Houston Astros, the Texas Rangers, the Oakland Athletics, the Milwaukee Brewers, the Houston Rockets, the Chicago Bears, the Houston Oilers, and the Tennessee Titans.

Of course, we can't forget Rule 34, which states that anything that exists has some kind of pornographic version of it.

And probably the best fact: Wikipedia's introduction to the article 34 (number) is:
Wikipedia wrote:
34 (thirty-four) is the natural number following 33 and preceding 35.

38.

38 is an important number in Norse and Egyptian mythologies. To the Norse, it represented unnatural bravery common in their legendary sagas. To Egypt, it represented the God Anubis, god of death and mummification.
