S4 - Episode 7: "Darkness on Umbara"

Does anyone know why the Umbarans are wearing masks in the episode? It looked like they were respirator masks, because they breathe something toxic to humans. But it was on their own homeworld! And we know Umbarans breathe regular air; Sly Moore doesn't wear a mask!

But otherwise, the episode was great! Lots of fun action.

I wondered that, too. It certainly seemed odd. Besides, the clones, and the Jedi, went around with no helmet. Maybe it's something to do with the armour? Protect them from shrapnel, maybe? Not the vibe I got, but it could be that.

Yeah. It would be really dumb for them to wear breather masks on their homeworld cause that's the one place where they wouldn't need one. Hopefully they're wearing them for some tactical reason. Maybe it's like a stimulant that helps them fight better.
