Another Trilogy

That could actually be pretty cool. It shouldn't hurt continuity either.

Technically the technology in the TOTJ era was substantially different looking than the films. KOTOR just ignored that.

I think Lucas has realized that TV production values have reached the point where they're more similar than films to the serials he was imitating. I'd like to see some sort of hybrid between a film and something like TCW or Blur animation that isn't necessarily a chronological show but more of an anthologized show, so it could produce Shadows of the Empire in that format, but also do something with Qui-Gon Jinn, or the New Jedi Order series, all under the same umbrella, so to speak.

What about a trilogy set in TOR era which basically tells the story of why the Sith hate the jedi so much. Its linked to the 6 films without really impacting on it. We could have some established Sith in it or all new Sith and Jedi.

If Lucas trimmed back the CGI and returned to old fashioned movie making it might be more fan pleasing and for a direrctor Id use Joe Johnston who knows George very well and George could be executive producer.

Planets could be Korriban, Dromuund Kaas and we could see the early days of Nal Hutta . Coruscant obviously would be in it and Tatooine and maybe we find out what happened to Endors primary. It was hinted in the ROTJ novel that something happened long ago to it. This along with other planets would link the 6 films without impacting on it.

We could have a new Sith Emperor and have a mix of american and uk actors like the original movies had.

The original trilogy had mostly nobody's with a few established actors so that would be the route they should go, the head of the Jedi could be played by a well known actor likewise the emperor with the story focusing on other jedi and sith played by little known actors. Throw in a smuggler although not a Han clone and a few mercs and maybe the Mandalorians and we could have a great trilogy.

I would vote against this. Strongly. We all know for a fact that Georgey boy would screw up continuity somehow. Plus this "Why the Jedi hate the Sith" may be touched upon in the upcoming Dawn of the Jedi comic. I think it should be left to the EU.

Plus, I doubt it will have the same effect. Also, it would be part of a different Saga. So it wouldn't be part of the actual Star Wars movies, and wouldn't link in at all, even TCW movie (which I don't count as one of the Star Wars movies) links inbetween Eps II and III and nine movies just seems a bit excessive.

EDIT: I wouldn't mind seeing Nal Hutta in massive HD cinema though. That would be the selling point for me.

I can see your points about it.

Yes George probably would screw up continuity and he also said in an interview that he does not know everything about the SW universe so there would definately be a few "mistakes"

The thing is it should be a different saga but from the same galaxy. Luke, Han and Leia has run its course. Same too TCW. We know how it ends, a different saga might be a way to go.

It could be called Star Wars The Old Republic Episode 1 Trouble. I think it could work in some way. Create the Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader for a new generation.

The problem with making a new trilogy is how its made. What made the OT so great was that a lot of the cast were guys and girls in costume. The sets looked dirty and lived in and there was a real old school saturday morning feel to it.

CGI ruined the prequels for me. It looked like a video game. Look at the OR trailers. They look like movies so advanced is the technology. The prequels at times looked like a video game. It lacked the warmth and feel of the OT. If Lucas made a new trilogy he would use so much CGI it would ruin the feel of the movies. He thinks CGI is the best way to go. I say some old school filmmaking is the way to go. You can use CGI were needed but there was scnes in the prequels which had CGI just for the sake of it.
