I agree, I thought it was one of the better Star Wars books I've read recently Smile

If this book is as good as I think it will be we could have a very strong argument that

Darth Revan is the most interesting character from TOR era and in contention for greatest Sith ever

Am I excited? Yes indeed.

I haven't played the games in years, so when it comes to plot details I often rely on the knowledge of others. In this case, it seems that the retcon was actually KOTOR 2's doing in the first place, and Karpyshyn was simply adhering to the plot of the second game. This, notably, is contrary to the prevailing narrative prior to the book's release, which assumed that Karpyshyn would mangle the plot of the second game.

I was surprised by that, but then again I didn't get far with that character's sub plot when I played the game - but on the other things that tied in with KOTOR II (again, of what I was familiar with and remembered) I found it stayed rather well to it.

I have heard different things about Revan in the book one of which is he is markedly different from the KOTOR game and fans may be disappointed expecting a similar character. As I havent read it I cant really comment but it has got mixed reviews as a result.

Well it depends on how you played as Revan, too. I tended to play as a sarcastic light sider, so it was pretty close to the mark for me.

How do you play as a sarcastic light-sider? Whenever I chose the sarcastic comments, it would earn me evil points. Could you imagine if Solo had been in that game? He'd be a Sith Lord before he got off Taris.

Anyhoo, I agree. It depends on how you played him. You could be the do-gooder, the neutral, or the smarmy bad guy. I found book Revan to be pretty spot on with the Light Side version.

I loved this book!

I haven't finished KOTOR 1, and never played KOTOR 2 (I had the unfortunate luck of having a PC that was too weak to play it when they came out, and my next PC was far too powerful; apparently they had problems getting KOTOR 1 and 2 to work on Vista). But I loved the story.

And there's still so much more to be told!
