Did you know James Earl Jones asked that his names not be in the credits for A New Hope?

Its typical of the man that he regarded David Prowse as Vader and his voice was purely a special effect.

On another note did anyone know that three actors played Wedge Antilles in a new hope?

In the rebel briefing room scene the pilot who says "Thats impossible even for a computer" is Wedge but played by actor Colin Higgins. Higgins was replaced later by Denis Lawson but it isnt Denis you hear. He was voiced by David Ankrum.

The first time you hear Denis as Wedge was in Rogue Squadron 11 Rogue Leader game.

Well that is most interesting. I actually did not know that. Loving the factoids. Smile

In the original film version a number of X-Wings seen in the hangar scene were cut outs.

Dave Prowse was in Kubricks a Clockwork Orange. He was offered both Vader and Chewbacca roles but choose Vader because he felt Vader would be remembered.

Mayhew worked as a Hospital Porter when he got a call to audition for a role. He was sitting down in the office when Lucas walked in. When he stood up Lucas knew he found his man.

Moray Bush who played Dengar was a boxer.

Alan Harris played Bossk

Michael Carter who played Bib Fortuna appeared in an episode of Home and Away an Australian soap

Star Wars lost out as best film at the 1978 academy awards to The Deer Hunter

Star Wars is Ted Mosbys favourite movie in How I met your Mother

The original Emperor face in ESB was an old woman crossed with a monkey painted green and weraing contacts. He was voiced by Clive Revill

In the asteroid chase scene in Empire a tennis shoe and a potato are among the items used in the asteroid field.

The space slug that the falcon lands in was a hand puppet.

The Hoth scenes were filmed in Finse Norway.

Phil Brown who played the original Uncle Owen was blacklisted in the 1950s for being a communist.

Mark Hamills son Nathan was born during the ESB filming.

Carrie Fisher stayed in the house belonging to Monty pythons Eric Idle during the filming of ANH.

Alec Guinness celebrated his 67th birthday while filming in Tunisia.

I may have mentioned elsewhere that JEJ always regarded Dave Prowse as Vader. well this is true but another reason he didnt want his name in the original credits was he was convinced it would be a flop.

Lucas got inspiration for his evil empire from the film studios who refused to make the film.

Yes Hamill didnt come off well in that show. I remember they were trying to talk to Billy Dee Williams. A lot of the stars didnt come off well at all.
