Seriously. My mind is now conjuring all kinds of last names that won't make it by the censor. Very Happy

Back in 1996 I came across an X-wing book by Michael A stackpole and I realised there were SW books. I read that and read the Heir To The Empire trilogy and have never looked back.

120 books and counting

Never noticed this thread lol

I got Return of the Jedi on my 5th birthday as a VHS, and got horribly confused with it being Episode VI, so I spent ages looking for earlier episodes. (obviously I managed to find New Hope and Empire, then spent years not understanding why there was no I, II & III). Whilst looking everywhere for the earlier film episodes I stumbled across Han Solo at Stars End, and took it from there.

Those Han Solo adventures are still some of my favorite Star Wars books, they were just fun to read :D

When ANH was first in cinemas they didnt put up EP IV on the crawl as it was deemed too confusing. Also Lucas wanted it to stand on its own in case it was a flop and there were no further films.

I think you meant to put this in the other thread. Wink

[FIRST POST]
My first experience with EU was around 1992-ish when Heir to the Empire first came out on paperback. I remember seeing Dark Force Rising and The Last Command in hardcover anxiously waiting the year later for the paperback to come out.

I even bought the audiobooks on cassette after I'd read the book. Yeah, they were abridged, but the audiobooks were read by Anthony Daniels and had sound effects for different characters and music between chapters as well as in key moments during the book.

After that, I think I read Shadows of the Empire then the Jedi Academy trilogy. And then I sort of got jaded with the sudden rush of ABY novels. I got confused with the different books being release all occurring at different times and there wasn't a timeline yet.

So it wasn't until the prequel trilogy novels starting coming out that I started getting back into it again.
