How cool would an invisible lightsabre be!? Not see-through, but INVISIBLE!

Actually, that would probably just make you look like an idiot. Sorry. Wink

*pictures someone waving around an apparently deactivated hilt* Well, it'd be funny until said invisible blade took off your head.

This is where a facebook like button emoticon would come in handy!

It would cause more harm to its bearer who might forget where exactly the blade was especially during a melee.

I wonder if it could be truly invisible though. Seems like they say lightsabers don't generate heat, which would mean it shouldn't distort the air...yet lightsabers melt through things so you would think they generate heat, and would thus distort the air. Heck, in TCW they don't even boil water, so I'm not sure it's even relevant. Might as well have invisible lightsaber beams too. Wink

Would be a great weapon for a Sith or dark sider. I imagine the Jedi wouldn't look favorably on a weapon designed to use subterfuge to fool and hurt the enemy.

Dude, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to focus a laser beam into a column to begin with, so I wouldn't think about it too much. Wink

Actually scientists discovered a way to stop a laser beam, thus lightsabers actually are somewhat more theoretically possible now.

Imagine if they could make one how much a proper working lightsabre would cost?

Crazy money Id say

Or they'd be really cheap but the batteries would cost an arm and a leg Laughing

It would cost whoever you're fighting an arm and a leg.

I love scientists.
Last year: Sorry Star Wars fans. Making lightsabers are scientifically impossible.
This year: Eureka!
