Too bad this Wraith Squadron book is so far away. It's almost a shame to get hyped up about it so early.

I'm anxious for this. It was the X-wing series that got me started in Star Wars literature, so I hope this gets some other involved.

Me + this book x memories of reading the others = excited!! Laughing

After reading what Shelly Shapiro hinted about the plot, I'm super excited for this novel...

I know nothing of what she's hinted at. Care to share?

Nice. Even though I don't have a lot of money, I'd spend it on this. Did you go to Comic Con, Nanci? What more can you tell us about X-Wing: Mercy Kill?

At Dragon*Con, Aaron Allston confirmed that Garik Face Loran will be in Mercy Kill. Who else is excited? *happy dance*

Me!

Alright, I should probably post something a bit more than just some emoticons...of the Wraiths, Face is the character that I remember best of all. Him and Piggy. Hearing that Face will be in the book is good news because we'll have at least one old Wraith in the bunch. If we get Piggy too, then I'll be thoroughly satisfied. Cool

Myri's going to be one of the Wraiths, too.

New cover!

And blurb!

Quote:
Founded decades ago, Wraith Squadron was Wedge Antilles’s boldest creation: a covert-action unit of X-Wing fighters, its pilots drawn from the dregs of other units, castoffs and rejects that were once outcasts and misfits, spies and warriors, pilots and troublemakers given one last chance. After thrilling adventures during and after the Rebellion that destroyed the Empire, this elite intelligence unit was disbanded at the end of a catastrophic galactic civil war.

Now, reunited by former leader Garik “Face” Loran, Wraith Squadron must find out whether one of the galaxy’s most powerful military officers is a traitor… and whether anyone can stop him if he is. To succeed in their mission, the Wraiths must become thieves, pirates, imposters, forgers, and liars, staying just one step ahead of their enemies and the law!

I would have liked to see a more recent XJ X-Wing but I love the E-Wing on there.

I am beyond pumped for new X-Wing books!!!

How would you even know if it was an XJ? Don't they all look alike visually?

One thing I'm wondering is whether the E-wings on the cover are piloted by the Wraiths. That one has a camo pattern and as far as I know, the E-wings are a bit dated now. It would seem fitting that they'd fly outdated craft. Course it could be the bad guys too.

Great cover. I wish it was stylistically more like the other X-Wing novels (like the font), but still a great cover.
