Here's a question to put out there for discussion: who do you think is the best Star Wars comic artist?

Cerrinea and I were talking the other day about this, and she thought Jan Duursema was the best. Personally I think Jan is good, but I'm hesitant to say she's the best. Federico Dallocchio did a really good job with the first two issues of Knight Errant. Him and Michael Atiyeh working together as a team produced some spectacular images.

But I'm not as thoroughly versed in Star Wars comics as I'd like to be. And cover artists deserve some attention to. Chris Scalf and Jo Chen both created some stunning covers.

Agreed. I think Obsession is one of the best looking comics I've ever read.

Granted I haven't read many comics but from what I've seen Jan Duursema is the best.

I looked through all my Star Wars comics last night to try and answer who I think is the best. Brian Ching is good, but I really think Jan is better. Her style does use a lot of heavy, black shading, but it really pops out of the page and looks nice. Ching's style varies, sometimes good, sometimes not so good. Jan is really consistent.

I can't choose between Jan Duursema and Brian Ching, because their artwork is both amazing in their own ways.
They are without a doubt the best Star Wars comic artists out there right now.

Jan Duursema.

With very little close competition in my mind.

I'd love to see some IMAGES to go with the artists!

Duursema is probably the most overrated EU artist, IMO. She did the artwork for the Attack of the Clones comic, and that was utterly atrocious. Her work leaves a lot to be desired, for me.

IR2 cries for proof. The cries must not be ignored! Let the evidence speak for itself. Cool

First up, I present my case for Jan Duursema...

Yeah I like Duuresma's stuff too. Thanks for the images! I have a hard time figuring out who the artist for each one is somedays.
