I just got home from a long conference in Geneva, and haven't quite finished shopping.
I took the car this morning and picked up a few last-minute gifts, and will also buy something online in a few minutes (I'm hoping to get my wife tickets to West Side Story, and make a date-night of it).
I'm spending Christmas Day with my wife and cat, and then around New Year's I'll be spending time with my parents (incl. my sister, her husband, and her kids), and my in-laws. Good times.
Oh, and this was fun: the conference I was at was Chaired by the UN Ambassador from the Netherlands, and the Conference started on December 5, which was Sinterklaas, celebrated by the Dutch and other Europeans. As a treat, the Ambassador gave each country a Chocolate Letter (one of the traditions, apparently), and gave us the first letter of our country. Yum _________________ It was the year of fire… the year of destruction… the year we took back what was ours.
It was the year of rebirth… the year of great sadness… the year of pain… and the year of joy.
It was a new age. It was the end of history. It was the year everything changed.
The year is 2261.
The place: Babylon 5.
