There's a Republic flashpoint in which you rescue Revan from an Imperial prison. Then there's an Imperial flashpoint in which the Emperor sends you to kill Revan. Revan has gone pretty nutty and reverted to Mandalorian War form, he seems to want to genocide the Imperials. You also destroy HK-47. Anyway you kill him and he vanishes in an explosion/flash of light. He also quotes Malak's final words.

The Jedi Knight storyline concludes with you killing the Sith Emperor. You get Lord Scourge as a companion as well.

I'm kind of curious about the HK-47 situation considering that he appeared in Star Wars Galaxies. Revan wistfully states that he could rebuild him but it wouldn't be the same -- and you kill Revan so he doesn't rebuild him.

Also, as a consolation for killing HK-47, for what it's worth, you get an HK-51 droid as a companion (all classes do I believe).

Although killing Revan isn't necessarily dark side. He's gone nutso and he doesn't give you a choice in the matter. You could offer to join him and he's like "nope, I'm gonna kill you." You can probably get light side points from that mission.

Do you mean to say that you kill Revan in the Republic version, or that that's what happens in the Imperial version?

Also, I am presuming that the killing of the Emperor is the big finale, right? (to the actual storyline, I mean)

What I mean is, Revan is in an Imperial prison at the start of the game, and the Republic flashpoint results in his being freed from Imperial captivity. Then he starts to build an army of battle droids to genocide the Sith Empire, and the Emperor sends the Imperial characters to stop him in the Imperial flashpoint. Even if you try to side with Revan to stop the Emperor (as you can be a light side Sith), he refuses to and attacks you.

Killing the Emperor is only the finale to the Jedi Knight class storyline.




As a class quest, a Jedi Knight could recruit a Jedi Consular, a Smuggler, and a Trooper to fill out his party and all four of them defeat the Emperor, but otherwise those three classes won't face the Emperor -- although a few months ago I had heard rumors that the Jedi Consular also faces him in a different body after the JK kills him, I haven't heard anything to corroborate that since launch. The other characters wouldn't factor into the story, either, e.g. they wouldn't have dialogue options and they'd just be there as support.

Each character class is essentially its own game, albeit with overlapping territory and side quests. If you play as Republic, you'll never set foot on Korriban or Hutta, and likewise with Empire, you'll never set foot on Tython or Ord Mantell. I also believe that you can't visit Coruscant as an Imperial or Dromund Kaas as a Republic player, and I can test that but the servers are offline for a patch currently.

I'm fairly certain as well that certain planets aren't part of the class storylines, so if you stick to the storyline and don't explore at all, you'll never visit certain planets as one class.

I can't really comment on it, since I've not played the game, nor seen videos of that event, but I do remember Crash saying that the characters the players inhabit are the best of their type (like the bounty hunter is the Boba Fett of their day), so if the Emperor is taken down by the playable characters, then he's not taken down by a No-Name.

Basically, consider each class storyline in TOR as its own KOTOR game. The protagonist of each storyline is only as nameless as the Jedi Exile is in KOTOR 2, but she's not considered a "no name." And each character is distinguished as being exceptional in some way.
