The Thalmor's views are more religious than political, but the altmer in general hate the god Lorkhan because they feel as though he trapped them in the material realm, since they consider themselves the descendants of the aedra, or gods.

Apparently they want to eliminate Lorkhan/Talos from the pantheon and eliminate man completely, and by doing so it will essentially undo creation and allow them to be divinities again.

It's pretty convoluted.

Oh,and could you axplain scrolls to me? Are they like spell tomes where you can learn a spell to equip and use whenever or can you just use the spell once?

Now that would be cool. I'd love the ability to gather materials and make your own house out in the wild somewhere. Maybe gather a bunch of ore, wood, and other materials to fix some of those abandoned ruins or burned out houses. Even just the ability to make a hunters tent would be cool.

Or how about a canoe or a wagon for your horse to haul more supplies?

Nifty idea. Perhaps a mod will be created to do this.

Regarding Dawnbreaker: I love the whole design (far superior to the bland Oblivion artifact weapons) but as a sneak character I have a question: is the glowing orb thing by the hilt just for effect or does it actually emit some light that would aid enemies in finding you?

I just checked my game time yesterday. I've got 129 hours with my Breton, and 17 hours with my Imperial.

What level are you guys?

Let me give you an overview of my character;

I'm a level 10 Khajit, I'm really concentrating on Destruction, Restoration, Sneak, Pickpocket, Lockpick and One Handed. I'm also trying to get the slow-time perk in archery. I always wear necromancer robes (Magicka regenerates 75% faster), Hide helmet of Magicka (adds 30 points of Magicka) and Nord boots. I mainly dual-wield flames, then switch to dual-wielding healing and hide. Or, I have an ancient Nord War Axe of cold in one hand, healing in the other so that I can dedicate my magicka to healing, instead of splitting it between Flames and Healing. I have three shouts; Unrelenting Force (all three words), Whirlwind Sprint (one word), and Mrked for Death (locked). I think I have three dragon souls. Also, being a Khajit I have Night Eye, which has proved very useful. I'll tell what perks I've got in a bit.

I try to avoid combat as much as possible.

I have a level 63 Breton battlemage, a level 40 something Imperial warrior, and a level 40 something Dunmer assassin.

I haven't really played in a few weeks though because I've been playing TOR. Plus I've done all the questlines, main, civil war, mage college, companions, thieves guild, Dark Brotherhood, and Daedric artifacts.

I don't think Dawnbreaker affects stealth. I know torches do though, so it could theoretically.

I liked the mini DLC updates that Oblivion got that added different homes, there was a Wizard's Tower update that was good for magic users, Vile Lair that's good for vampires and Dark Brotherhood assassins, and Fighter's Stronghold for warriors. I don't think they're going to do that for Skyrim though.

One of the DLC updates for Oblivion was new spells.. which I think Skyrim sorely needs. The magic in it is really lacking compared to previous games.

Well, I don't mean add the spells from that Oblivion DLC (I don't even know what they are), I just think they need to release a DLC that adds to the existing magic system. It's really limited compared to Oblivion and especially Morrowind. And I don't think that spells like levitate or flight would break that many dungeons... especially if it's an expert or master level spell. Another feature Oblivion had was when you became Archmage you could create magic staves.

Edit: It took me a while to get into Skyrim, the first couple of sessions it wasn't that awesome, but now, I'm really into it.

Guys, how do I sheath (sp?) an arrow once I've drawn it? I always just shoot the ground then pick up the arrow, but I've seen videos where people can sheath them. It's annoying if I'm trying to sneak because sometimes when I shoot I get detected.

Also, I found out that you can poison weapons, which is cool. And I found out by accident, I was looking through my potions and accidentally pressed a trigger and it said "you must equip a weapon to poison it".

ATM I'm using an Elven Mace in one hand and Healing in the other. My restoration is pretty good, I can get from like a quarter health to full (140) in about 3 seconds when dual wielding. I've got the Dual Restoration park and the one where you heal 50% more.

I'm going to poison my elven mace with Frostbite Poison.

EDIT: I worked out how to sheath my bow. You press X.

Also, killed another dragon. Halfway from Ivorstead to Riften.
