Callista is a strange case because her infirmity is depicted inconsistently. In Darksaber, she's literally like the Yuuzhan Vong -- Luke cannot sense her through the Force at all. But in Planet of Twilight, he can sense her presence and sense her emotional states when he sees her.
My theory is derived from Plagueis. In it, Plagueis says that Force sensitivity cannot be endowed to a creature via infusion of midi-chlorians, because it's as though the midi-chlorians know that person isn't who they are meant for. This is seen first hand through Grievous. This is referring to non-Force sensitives, but in the case of Callista, I'm supposing that perhaps it's true across the board and since she is the only non-dark sider that we've seen switch bodies, that only by using the dark side can you dominate the midi-chlorians and force them to obey you. A non-Force sensitive is unable to do that and a Jedi won't do that (except when Callista used the dark side a few times).
And I'm hard pressed to think of a dark sider that switched to a new body rather than a clone, but off the top of my head all I can think of is Set Harth and Palpatine. Haven't finished Dynasty of Evil but I know in the sourcebooks Harth was using clones eventually, but might not have done so originally. _________________ "Trust not the words of a poet, as he is born to seduce.
