Another quick thought I had:

The categories for award-winners (both Oscars and Razzies): how flexible is that?

I was thinking yesterday, might one watch a movie that did not itself win, say, Oscar for Best Actor, but starred someone who had won (in another movie)?

Example: Iron Man stars Jeff Bridges. He won the Best Actor Oscar for Crazy Heart (I think). So could I put Iron Man in the Best Actor category (clarifying that it is in reference to Bridges)?

Or does that take it too far?

Yeah, that's like the Kevin Bacon game at this point lol. The award-winning categories are for the movie that won the actual award.

You missed Apes, Captain America, Sherlock, Dragon Tattoo, and a ton of others.

This year as in 2012, Caedus. I've seen most of those. Razz

2011 was kind of a 'meh' year for me movie-wise. 2012 looks awesome! Cool

I think I'm probably going to scale back the updates to monthly, so it'll be a bit more dramatic. Not a whole lot of movement this week, and Alan retains the top spot. I've also (finally!) joined the leaderboards.

Finally saw The Big Lebowski tonight. Can't believe it took me so long. That movie was so great! John Goodman was unstoppably hilarious.

As January draws to a close, Alan Skywalker V is still in the lead, but Darth-Weeto and Life Is The Path are closing in fast!

I have a question:

I noticed these two consecutive items:
380. Dark Comedy
381. Black Comedy

I've heard both of these used as synonyms, referring to gallows humour.

Can you clarify the difference?

One possibility is that 380 is gallows humour, whereas 381 refers to comedy involving mostly black actors/comedians (a la The Nutty Professor or Big Momma's House). But I want to make sure. Like I said, I've always used the terms dark comedy and black comedy synonymously.

Yeah, "Dark Comedy" is referring to gallows humor (think: "The Cable Guy") whereas "Black Comedy" is a comedy of mostly black actors.

It is, yes. I'm pretty sure I know what your next question is, and my answer is: I'm using 56 in reference to the funeral scene.

Why wouldn't you be able to? Makes sense to me.
