How did I get here? I don't know.

My username is from a hilarious moment of a Star Wars Mad Libs game.

Here's my story.

I wasn't born in time to see the original Star Wars movies in theaters, but I arrived a short time later and loved them as a kid.

My introduction to the EU was just after it's arrival too. I read the Dark Empire and Heir To The Empire comic adaptations and then the rest of the novels. That's when I became a true fan.

When they released the Special Editions I got to see the movies on the big screen. I saw ESB (the best, of course) at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. 200 Star wars fans crying out, "Eew! Gross! That's your brother!" when Leia kisses Luke is one of my fondest memories.

I thought the prequels sucked and I almost quit Star Wars. I've since grown to accept the prequel story as part of the SW Universe, but the movies still aren't very good. I guess you could call me a Lucas Hater since I've said, "Out of the ten SW movies that Lucas did, only three of them were any good. That's not a good record." And I'll never accept Boba Fett's ret-con.

I really liked Tartakovsky's Clone Wars and I do want to watch the CG series, but I'm still not that into prequel and Old Republic stories. It seems to me to be kind of pointless to say that the whole story is Episodes One through Six if you are going to keep coming up with stories in between forever. The idea of a forgone conclusion by knowing what happens in the future takes away from the story for me. I feel the same way about Legacy comics and even though they are good on their own, I think they have killed the EU post-NJO stories.

Other than that I'm really into collecting the vintage toys (1977-85) and you'll probably see me posting a lot in that section.

Thanks for the warm welcome MJ!

As for Boba's story.... yeah, it's a matter of perspective. I guess I'm just stuck in the 90's.

Let me put it this way, If George had included some dialogue in ROJ where Jabba the Hutt says to the bounty hunter that just brought him Han Solo in carbonite: "So you're a clone of the guy that all of the clones from the Clone Wars was based on? And you hate the Jedi because they killed that guy who raised you, and that wasn't actually you, but another one of those clones that met Leia in the Star Wars comics?"

...We would all be like

This isn't something that bothers me, personally. As long as the story is well-told, I'm good. I've known the ending to some of my favourite books before I started page one.

Same.

Before I knew I'd really get into buying the books and stuff I spent ages on the Wook.

Have we met? On the internet, I mean. Your writing seems familiar.

Anyway: welcome!

I was thinking along the lines of the old starwars.com forums, or maybe the LL, a writer's forum?
