S4 - Episode 16: "Friends and Enemies"

Darth Skuldren Moderator Joined: 04 Feb 2008 Posts: 5756 Location: Missouri Season 4 - Episode 16: Friends and Enemies Airs: 1/27/12 at 8:00 PM ET/7:00 PM CT Replays: 1/28/12 at 8:30 AM ET/7:00 AM CT Summary: Fleeing across the galaxy with criminal fugitives, a disguised Obi-Wan, Cad Bane and Moralo Eval are tenaciously pursued by Anakin and Ahsoka, who have no idea they're chasing their friend. Second episode in a possible four part arc. _________________

Life Is The Path Master Joined: 10 Sep 2010 Posts: 3406 Location: In a galaxy far, far - No, I'm behind you! Got you! Boo! I thought it was a little dodgy in the beginning, but it quickly grew on me. It turned around when it got to Palpatine's ministrations. It was annoying that he basically ordered him to go, with very little subtlety, but at the same time I liked that it sounded like he was giving Anakin leave to go, much like Padme did in Ep II. I am wondering, though, if this really can be carried for another two episodes, though. Two more things: Was that Indy's hat? Or Dave Filoni's? And: Is that the first time Obi-Wan has been called Ben? I'm almost positive it's the first time he's been known as that in the series, but I'm not caught up on the books or comics to know. It was an interesting inclusion. _________________ I am a Star Wars fan. That doesn't mean that I hate or love Jar Jar. That doesn't mean I hate or love Lucas, or agree or disagree 100% with him. That doesn't mean I prefer the PT over the OT, or vice versa. That doesn't mean I hate the EU, or even love all of it. These are not prerequisites. Being a man is not a prerequisite. Being a geek is not a prerequisite. The only prerequisite is that I love something about Star Wars. I am a Star Wars fan.

Though it is inconsistent with later depictions of how he came to use the name Ben (The Life And Legend Of Obi-Wan Kenobi said that the land he bought on Tatooine belonged to someone called "Old Ben", and it stuck). It's nice to finally see a bit of Palpatines influence over Anakin and Anakin's trouble with keeping on the right path, but I still think that the Anakin we see in TCW is much more reserved than the one we see in the movies or even in the old Clone Wars Animated Series. I did love the world Nal Hutta again And is it me or are the visuals rapidly improving? Compare season 1 to these episodes, and you'll be very surprised. But I do think the visuals are improving within this season, too. That might just be something akin to an optical illusion, because the earlier episodes, I feel, weren't as taxing on the skills of the artists involved, whereas these later ones are. _________________ I am a Star Wars fan. That doesn't mean that I hate or love Jar Jar. That doesn't mean I hate or love Lucas, or agree or disagree 100% with him. That doesn't mean I prefer the PT over the OT, or vice versa. There's also the issue of setting. The first three episodes of season 4 were all underwater, episodes 5 and 6 were intentionally cartoony, and episodes 7-10 were very dark. Minor details don't come across as well.
