Darth Skuldren Moderator Joined: 04 Feb 2008 Posts: 5774 Location: Missouri Anakin may have been toying with the dark side, but he didn't become a Sith until he wiped out the younglings. I think even the death of Windu could be forgiven in that he acted rashly and emotionally on the spur of the moment. When he took out the temple, he had a nice long walk to think about his actions. That was the tipping point. _________________

Rouge77 Master Joined: 22 Mar 2008 Posts: 599 I think it was a process, his actions in AoC starting it, killing Dooku was another step and him "saving" Palpatine was almost the final seal, but considering his tears on Mustafar etc I think that his turn wasn't 100 % complete until he heard that Padme was dead. Padme's death cut Darth Vader's connection to Anakin Skywalker in my opinion and finalized his fall.

He was never able to completely forget about her (and not that he should have) and it only worsened the problem (greatly) when she died. Because then he wasn't able to save her and he felt resentment at the Jedi for not caring about her, etc. Then Padmé came along, and he gave everything to her. Perhaps to make up for his mother? And now he couldn't focus on anything other than her, resulting in his killing of Windu, seeing as he needed Palpatine to 'save' Padmé. So all in all...it was the women in his life. I used to think that all that Jedi stuff about attachments was too harsh; but now when you think about if Anakin had just not gotten involved with Padme, the galaxy would be a very different place. Conspiracy theory: Did palpatine plan the whole assasination attempts on Padme, then assign Anakin and Obi-Wan to protect her, so that Anakin would get close to her and possibley give Palpatine a chance to corrupt him? His mom lived him too much (not that love's bad), and that made him a much more attached and emotional person then he otherwise would have been. I agree, it was a process, and even Jacen wasn't a Sith in my book until he gave himself a name. Once they really pledge themselves, I say they've fallen...but the same can be said for the light. The steps there they could turn back but once you make the call, it usually is more difficult to turn back from it (Anakin's tears here, too; he knew he shouldn't be doing it, but he was already doing it). _________________ "Changes are nice--but so is continuity!"
