New Jedi Order Appreciation Thread

One thing I liked about the NJO was the variety. As readers, we got a wide selection of authors, new and old. Each author put their own spin on Star Wars and the characters. While that might have created some inconsistencies with the overall plot and story, it wasn't detrimental. It still worked.

I think it's interesting that even now the NJO is still ongoing, but with Dark Horse doing the storytelling. There's plenty of room to further explore the time period. It would be nice if Del Rey would toss a short story or novel in the NJO just to let fans know it's still a viable era for story telling.

Whether there are inconsistent character arcs in the NJO is definitely subjective. Clearly there are differing opinions. I for one, as of almost completing book 5, don't feel there are any jarring problems with the characters yet. But then again I don't usually notice such things.

I plan on reading Rogue Planet for the first time and I was wondering at what point anyone else tends to read this "prequel" during the New Jedi Order series? I don't necessarily want to wait until I'm done with the NJO, especially since I don't think knowledge of Zonoma Sekot is going to spoil anything for me. Or is it?

Shouldn't be an issue. It was published in between Dark Tide I & II, so I'd say that would be the place to read it.

Been re-reading this, 3 books in. Gotta say, I miss this era. Stackpole did well with the novels, I loved Corran Horn as the Dark Tide duology is really his story. I'll start Agents of Chaos I tomorrow, looking forward to it.

Im currently reading this series and have just finished the 2 Enemy lines books, the 2nd book rebel stand was one of the best of the series so far. and now ive just started book 13- traitor.

I thought the last book rebels stand was awesome,i didnt think the series could get any better than that one but by the sound of it im wrong. So far im 10% in and it has all been about jacen and vergere so far and im enjoying it. This series is amazing.
