First off, hello everybody! Been following the forums here for a while and decided that I should probably get around to signing up, so, here I am.

I would like to pose a question to you, my fellow Star Wars fans:
If you could pick one aspect of the SW universe (character, event, starship, planet, anything!) to be the focus of a novel, what would it be?

I think mine would be a novel focusing on the war between Xim and the Hutts. It is a completely unexplored era and I think Xim would make a great character.

I want to see/read exactly WHY/HOW the Mandalorians split into the pacifist goody goody society and an all out psychologically deranged cult.

Give me a reason to like/accept this. Just saying!! Thank You Smile

I'd like to know how that happened too, but I'd rather see it explained in one of the guides than a novel.

@das337
First of all, welcome to the cantina! Smile
Second, I like the Xim idea a lot, it is an unexplaned era for sure and would be something else in terms of not being centered around Force Users. It should be a trilogy or duology at least though, I think.

As for me. I'd like to read a novel with average everyday individuals getting mixed up in some kind of adventure. Not one where they have to safe the galaxy or something that big, but something a bit smaller like saving a friend or getting mixed up in something criminal, maybe as a witness to a murder or something. The novels shouldn't revolve around Force Users or the government although they could be involved somewhere in the periphery.
I think an "earthly" adventure like that taking place in the GFFA could work out real nice. Cool

I love the idea of a Xim and Hutt novel. That would be very cool to read. We've never really seen the Hutts at war, though it's been mentioned. Such a novel would be a nice break from all the other series going on too.

If I had to pick something, I'd currently say a Streen novel. They guy has pretty much been ignored since the Jedi Academy Trilogy. It's amazing to think he's been around all this time and has never been developed. No one has touched him. I think it would be a great way for a new author to come into Star Wars. Even an existing author could have a lot of fun with the character since they could go back to the Bantam era and fill in all the gaps; tell Streen's side of the story. Fans could relive the EU from a different perspective if they did a Streen series.

I didn't even know Streen was still alive.

The other Grand Admirals. If Thrawn is anything to go by, those others must be impressive as well.

I'd like some novels with a bunch of Jedi teaming up, but no Skywalker/Solos. Seha Dorvald, Kolir Hu'lya, the Solusars, Tesar Sebatyne, Kyle Katarn, Tekli... there's so many to choose from. Even if they want to throw in Ben or Jaina, fine, but let the others do something cool for a change.

Well, there was Jedi Academy: Leviathan, a comic miniseries which was an adventure with Kyp Durron, Streen, Kirana Ti, Tionne, and I think Kam Solusar. It was fun!

I'd like a novel or comic series focussing on the stories of Keyan Farlander, Maarek Stele, and Ace Azzameen. These are the characters you play in the games X-Wing, TIE Fighter, and X-Wing Alliance, respectively.

TIE Fighter was, and remains, my favourite Star Wars game ever made. I'd love for something with a bit more exposition to explain the story a bit more. It was during this story that two Imperial Admirals betrayed the Empire, and when Thrawn was promoted to Grand Admiral. Stele also becomes a member of the Secret Order.

I know there were the little stories in the booklets that explain the backstory, but I want more! MORE!!!!

Last I read he was running a kind of academy on Dathomir alongside Kirana Ti.

Any jedi/sith outside of the Skywalker/solo family would be nice. A novel on Thrawn's years in the Empire before he became GA.

The SW universe is too rich to be wasted on force users exclusively IMO.
I would totally read something like what Ree'dius suggested. Cool

What about a book that explains what happened to Darman after Imperial Commando book?
I agree, more books featuring Hutts. Would like to see a novel on Cad Bane.
