It definitely felt like a set up to future events, but I liked what it did do. The relationship between Zayne and the Republic officer, I forget his name, was curious to watch. I'm not too sure where they'll take it, but it's interesting either way.

And I liked the portrayal of the Mandalorians, in this. Those notes made mention of how they wanted the Mandos to be instant city builders. That reminded me of the Mongols. It's not really something I'd noticed before this issue, but it's something I'm going to make an effort to find parallels between the two from now on.

Kace gave up over what, sadness? Ugh. Ridiculous. No one was ever in any danger, Kace just needed someone to point out how much he'd loved his own wife and unborn child and like that it was over. And Jarael was apparently just waiting at home with Zayne's sisters. And now Zayne is part of the emissary to the Mandalorians? This is ridiculous, they should have just left the story alone when KotoR ended, this wasn't worth the time or money overall.

First off, I thought this issue was kind of neat. It was very different, and that was one of the reasons I liked it. They didn't kill the badguy for a change. In fact they actually arrested the badguy. Also, the badguy wasn't a through and through evil villain. Dorjander was a Jedi who got sidetracked on a vendetta, and was quite ready to throw himself to the dark side. Zayne called his bluff and made use of that small shred of decency that Kace still has.

I admit, it was a risky move for the issue cause it was very anti-climatic. People like seeing death, violence, and action. It's all good drama. It provokes emotions. What John did was very non-traditional for Star Wars. But, for me, I thought it was very true to the characters.

As for the arc being a waste of time and nothing happened, you could say that. But then again, Zayne had an adventure (which is pretty much what the whole KOTOR series is about: adventures of Zayne), and furthermore Zayne changed a little. He's maturing more and gaining more wisdom. He's growing as a Jedi and as a person. Plus he's now committed himself to helping bring an end to the war, which is a very big step (and opens the door for more adventures).

It depends how you look at it. But I can definitely understand how people might be upset (dissatisfied) with how War went.

It was all the little dumb things that bothered me. Like when Dorjander told them not to hurt the younglings and then they get Force blasted into a wall or when all it took to stop the entire thing was someone reminding him his wife wouldn't want this. Why not just do that in the first place? Because they couldn't get a weak mini-series out of it. This had the opportunity to be an amazing story end-cap but instead it was just kind of...eh. I've been underwhelmed since issue #2 and I thought this was less impressive than I ever could have hoped. I love drama and I think having him arrested and tried was outstanding because of how different it was and I'm pleased with where Zayne wound up, I was just severely disappointed in how it came about. Did all the Neo-Crusaders just lay down arms with him? Was he executed or imprisoned? Was Jarael really under the impression that his being drafted would only keep him away for the weekend or so? There was too much nonsense used to explain things away, I just didn't buy it. KotoR has always brought MORE to a comic series with the ability to mix humor, action, drama, and character in a balanced way. This final issue could have made the whole series worth it but instead it contrived weak explanations and just kind of tossed it away. Its just my opinion and I know there will be so many who love it but I felt that if they'd worked on some of these things I've listed more it could have been better. The spirit of the KotoR story wasn't there and that hurt the story.
