I know this isn't a very easy "on a scale from 1 to 10" type thing, but who would you say is more powerful overall; Plagueis or Anakin?

At what point in their lives?

Anakin (ROTS, prior to pledging allegiance to Palpatine) 7
Anakin (ROTJ) 9

vs

Plagueis (an hour before his death) 8

As a Jedi, Anakin was pretty powerful, however, he was lacking in the wisdom and knowledge department. By Return of the Jedi, as a Sith Lord, he's pretty powerful. Anyone who can kill Palaptine by sheer, brute force at this point in time is not someone to be toyed with.

Plagueis at the height of his power had a decent amount of knowledge, wisdom, and Force power. Yet as powerful as he was, he was still vulnerable. Where Anakin managed to kill Palpatine, Plagueis failed.

Did he really try, though? Did he really want to? My impression from the novel was that - erm, I'll put it in spoilers:

I think the back cover was just some fluff for gaining interest and selling books. I doubt it's anything of credibility.

I think you have a good point, Reedius. I could see that being one way of how it went down.

I may have missinterpreted something, but it looked like he knew he was doomed, from my prespective.

It might be a point of view thing...
Your version could be true too. It depends on how defenseless you (the reader) believe Plagueis to be in that instant.
