Finally finished it!
Okay, here's my two cents on the book:
Boba Fett:

He had no business being on the back cover. I love Fett and I think he's awesome, but he only appears in one scene and that's it. We don't even see random Mandos at the big battle with Daala. That said, I'm glad he mentioned the virus, because I thought that was kind of dumb for Denning to do in LotF and I'm hoping they'll find a cure for it so we can move on with our lives. I don't get his relationship with Daala (whatever that is) and I'm hoping he kills her at some point.
Vestara/Ben:

While I'm talking about covers, let me just say that I thought the front cover was awesome and fit the book very well. While I agree that the whole teen true love thing has been overdone, I still liked the idea of Ben turning Vestara to the light. I feel like the books have gotten so "edgy" lately that they seem to have forgotten about the good old-fashioned campy tropes that Star Wars was once known for. So when Vestara wanted to become a Jedi, I found it refreshingly cliché. Until she killed Natua and came full circle back to where she's been the whole series, which is getting old. I wish the girl would just pick a side and stay there.
I'm glad the books aren't trying to turn this into another dark vs. light crisis for Ben. Ben is a Jedi and is staying that way, and that makes me happy. If he and Luke can't see through Vestara after her latest identity crisis, though, (which is probably exactly what will happen) I think I'm gonna shoot something.
Jaina/Jag:

I'm just waiting for them to have a big role, which I'm hoping will happen in Apocalypse. The fact that they're on the back cover is encouraging, but we've seen that that doesn't always mean anything. Jag has long been a favorite character of mine, and it is nice to know that he's unkillable at least until he becomes Emperor. I'm hoping we see the real rise of the Fel Empire, so I'm crossing my fingers that it gets adequate page time in Apocalypse instead of a passing "by-the-way" mention. *coughInvinciblecough* I think it's fairly obvious that Tahiri is going to start the Imperial Knights, and I don't really care about that one way or the other. It just feels like an easter egg. I love the Empire ten times more than the Alliance and have felt that way for quite a while now, therefore if Apocalypse ends up being mostly about the Alliance, I'm going to be very disappointed.
As far as Jaina is concerned, I thought her little message to Vestara about how she had to kill her brother was a little too convenient, seeing as how she contributed next to nothing up until that point. I'd rather Jaina be completely absent than be there just to be there.
Luke:

I like Luke now. He is exactly where I want him to be. While I do think that the Jedi Order needs to learn to survive without him, I don't think it's his fault that they depend on him so much. I applaud his decision to leave Coruscant. I have been waiting for several series now for the Jedi to finally separate officially from the Alliance, so I hope it just stays permanent. I've always thought the downfall of the original Jedi Order was due to their position under the Old Republic government.
Abeloth:

I love how her name is in the Dramatis Personae with no further info. Very mysterious. I also knew she was Rokari Kem ever since she contacted Workan, although I was momentarily thrown off by the green eyes (I thought her eyes were always gray). I am also happy that they've finally tried putting the big bad mysterious Force creature in the middle of Coruscant for the big battle (the Yuuzhan Vong don't count). It always feels like these creatures are big Jedi secrets that the rest of the galaxy never hears a peep about. It should also greatly decrease the number of beings who don't believe in the Force.

And finally, I'm glad there's only one book left so we can finally wrap up her story arc. I feel like they've dragged it out for almost too long.
All in all, I enjoyed the book, and I can't wait for Apocalypse. I just hope Denning actually takes the time to finish all the story arcs properly.
