I made it halfway through the first time, but I remember almost none of what happened. So I find it important that I start over. I've read the first chapter 4 times, because I've now started the book 3 times, plus it was the excerpt in the back of Conviction. But thankfully I'm moving along and hopefully I should get back into unknown territory soon enough.

haha. Mara you sure have patience. I give a book a second chance and then after that decide that it's a lost cause.

I don't remember if it was in this book or the last one (could it be the one before? oh well)....

Just "because they didn't want to have it in the book" seems like a pretty bogus reason. They should have at least addressed it.

Haha, that's generally my policy, as well. But in this case I'm pretty sure I'm the one at fault, not the book. And I find it unfair to both of us to give up on FotJ now. If I could get through LotF, I can certainly find the will to finish FotJ. Smile

Hmm. Odd. I'll take your word for it, but I don't remember that and I was thinking about them the whole time while I was reading it. I also don't remember where and when it said that they were there.

I'm making decent headway with Ascension. I think with the upcoming weekend I'll be able to get back to where and was and possibly progress. I'm thinking maybe a two week read? I would predict shorter, but school is pretty brutal right now. I should be just in time to pick up Apocalypse around the time it comes out. Not that I'll have time to read it, either. But hopefully I'll be able to fit it in. Smile

Maybe Vile is right and they weren't there, or maybe that is a possible explanation for what is happening. I just assumed that was the case and didn't consider that they might not have actually been there. [/quote]

@MJ. I'm glad that they did it that way. Suspense is one thing, but I can't stand indecision. I'd much rather have something big happen right at the onset and spend time dealing with the repercussions, than to have it linger on to force a dramatic conflict in the end.

Finally back to where I was the first time I attempted to read Ascension. So it should be all new material from here. Hopefully not much more than a week of reading to go. We shall see!
