Sorry you're feeling so lousy, Caedus.

My gripe: teachers who give vague instructions about projects worth a big hunk of our grade.

Gripe of the day: it is taking way too long for UPS to make their delivery (if Amazon's tracking is to be trusted). I was up early for class and really want to take a nap but I know the second I do I'll either 1) choose the exact moment the UPS guy gets here 2) fall so deeply asleep the doorbell doesn't wake me and then not get my package (unless they don't mind leaving it at the front door of an apartment building).

Near the end of Jan. a 4 year old girl in Hoke County, NC was told to get a cafeteria lunch because a govt. inspector or a teacher(seems to be some confusion as to who told her) said that her turkey & cheese sandwich, banana, potato chips, & fruit juice didn't meet guidelines:

1 serv. meat
1 serv. grain
1 serv. milk
2 serv. fruit or veggies

A few weeks later, 3 more lunch incidents at the same school. In all 3 cases, the kids had to get a cafeteria lunch.

Utterly stupid for those kids to have to get a cafeteria lunch when their bag lunch was actually healthier!

Schools are scary.

There was a really good chance of being able to see the Aurora Borealis last night - something I've been wanting to do for ages - but nothing happened. Or perhaps something did happen, but was hidden behind the mass of cloud that decided to drift overhead an hour before sunset.

Still, I did manage to up my total of planets I've seen through the telescope to four: Venus and Mars, added to Jupiter and Saturn Very Happy .

people who drive with their headlights off, on a 45 MPH road, during a snow storm that brings visibility down to 100-150 yards. Evil or Very Mad

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is on. This is a gripe because remembering how good this film is makes me sad that the franchise basically died.

Nice! Very Happy I managed to catch Neptune once by accident. Turns out that night it was fairly close to Jupiter from Earth's perspective.

My gripe: People who call themselves 'indie' or think that when we call them a hipster it is because they have an appreciation for things indie.

Indie: Short for independent, and that is all. It is not a style of music, for indie can be folk (as it is commonly seen) but it can also be gangsta rap. It just has to be released on an independent label or completely free of a label. It can also be a film, as Black Swan and Never Let Me Go are independent films. It is not, nor ever will be, a clothing style.

Hipster: Someone who believes that listening to Mumford & Sons or the Freelance Whales and dressing 'indie' makes them better than other people. Someone who spends tons on clothing that looks old, thinks owning a camera makes them a photographer, watching old movies that are terrible to appreciate them ironically, or talking about how much they think that they are ahead of the curve, these are characteristics of a hipster. Hipster is actually synonymous with the word "douche-bag" and I get so tired of people who think that they are more than others based on movies or music or low-cut v-neck t-shirts (and I mean on men, not women, men are wearing these as a fashion statement).

You've just described pretty much everyone in my friend group. They listen to their crappy "indie" bands (Strokes, Horrors etc) and wear cardigans and skinny jeans.

Edit: Just realised this could sarcastic, I'm not being sarcastic or aggressive, they're my friends, but the whole "indie" thing does annoy me.

My youngest son wears skinny jeans. He doesn't scare me, but he does instill the desire to gibbs smack him. Very Happy

I used to wear baggy jeans a lot, but realised I looked like a twat, so now I do the go-between and wear slim fit grey jeans. Not robe-like baggy jeans and not wetsuit-like skinny jeans. I tried wear actual skinny jeans once and honestly could barely move.

What are your opinions on coloured jeans? Purple, yellow etc.
