Cerrinea Master Joined: 09 Jun 2009 Posts: 1410 My son skates in his skinny jeans. Idk how he does it. And by skate I don't mean skateboard; I mean that crazy rollerblading stuff. True story: he fell rollerblading, broke his arm and ended up needing surgery = steel plate with 12 screws. The day -- the exact day -- he got the okay to skate again, he fell and re-broke the same arm. On the other hand, his older brother started skating at 6, and didn't make a trip to the ER until he was 18. Even then, he didn't get stitches; just a big bandage. _________________ Roqoo Depot co-founder.

Alan Skywalker V Knight Joined: 10 Apr 2011 Posts: 434 More school hassles. We managed to get my one textbook taken care of since it arrived yesterday, but now we're being asked to fill out info that we've already done for FA. Not only that, but when Mom called about my book last week, she wasn't getting told anything because the college advising office said I hadn't done the process to release confidental records to my parents, when in fact I had done it last September. Grrr. I think Dad's almost at the end of his rope. He has to take care of my achool money and other stuff since I don't have a job, and I think having to look at constant emails about it is making him irritable.

People who use the 'indie' label as a style or a way of acting like they're more ahead of the curve because they listen to obscure music are what bothers me. People who listen because they like it are fine. And to whoever said the Strokes are crappy indie music, they are neither! It seems like its own genre because, without the controls exerted by things like a studio or an agent, you might be seeing more "raw creativity", for lack of a better word. "Creative rock" isn't a genre, so either new genres spring up as they are created, or they fall in the fringes of other genres. Besides, what happens when the band gets a record deal and makes it big? They stop being Indie, but may continue making the exact same music. Yellowcard is EXTREMELY poppy and Owl City is soaked in it, but its not a horrible thing. Relient K is all pop, but again doesn't mean its a bad thing. If you want examples to change your view of folk look no further than Mumford & Sons, that's folk at its finest. My musical taste has gotten really weird over the last few years, and I guess today my grip of the day would be that my music is becoming less relevant.
