True, true. I think there's still significantly less intentional misleading by historians though. I mean, a historian's goal is to shed light on the past, not obscure it. A politician's goal should be to take care of their country and its population, but I get the sense that more politicians are after their own agenda and are more willing to obscure the truth than historians are.
For example, Historian A might believe that the island of Thira is the basis for the legend of Atlantis and Historian B does not. Both will try to find evidence that will support their theories, but neither are trying to mess with me. They honestly think their theories are right and they're trying to prove it. If their theory is wrong, they might still mislead me but not intentionally. _________________
