The Star Forge is what I think you are talking about. The key is having mob control abilities. First I select force users for my allies. 1) they should all have force heal which will help the entire group in a pinch 2) they should have some useful mod control abilities that won't run out.

Second I set one to hold back and use the Force, the other I leave to handle enemies with whatever melee/force combo the computer selects. (micromanaging everything can't hurt here though, use the pause button liberally).

Third I open by either using a grenade that will freeze/stun everyone or use Force Wave (maxed out Force Push). I then spam saber throw until the weaker mob guys are dead (maxed out saber throw will hit multiple targets so target a weak mob guy to ensure at least one of them gets hit). Use Force Heal/med packs as required, also use stims, shields or other equipment as appropriate.

If you micromanage you can pause and adapt your allies attacks to what you require at the moment (if you need healing set a Jedi to just spam Force Heal for the next few turns for example). Also micromanage to make sure your allies are attacking the weaker guys first.

Basically it all boils down to take out the weakest enemies first because those are the guys who will kill you if left unchecked. Before rushing into each engagement figure out what they will be attacking you with and prep the required shields (even if you use a weak shield that only blocks 1-2 blaster bolts that is still 1-2 less blaster bolts of damage to heal). Also renew your stims so they don't wear off mid battle when you need their effects most.

Okay you guys, it finally happened. Ree'dius joined TOR Wink
And of course I don't have a clue of how half the stuff here works Laughing

Well, the single player part I get most of the times, but when it comes tp PVP I have a (newbie) question I hope someone here can answer: What is the deal with PVP gear? Do you use that in stead of your normal gear when you play PVP or can you use it all the time, what's the difference between the two? Can you play PVP without PVP gear?

And also, how (or where) do I craft items?

Probably pretty silly questions for the MMO veterans, but this is the first time I've played a MMO. Can someone explain these to me? Thanks Very Happy

Sorry to be the one who says this Ree'dius but you posted on the wrong thread.

I can tell you almost anything about KoTOR1+2, but I don't know much about TOR (or MMOs).
I think Salaris plays it though.

Anyway you should probably re post your questions here:

Gah! So true! I had to play through that game so many times before I ever got him to tell the whole story. Confused

So I have a question. Is KOTOR just a Star Wars version of Dungeons and Dragons? Or is it something completely different?

If you mean does it use dice rolls based on character stats to determine the success of a combat action rather than FPS twitch reflexes then yes. I'm unaware of a D&D video game though so I'm not sure how much further the comparison goes.

If you've played The Old Republic it's basically a single player version of that game style.

I have the book Revan coming in the mail so I'm excited about that.... but I've only played the first KOTOR as a Sith. I have the second game but not gotten around to playing it. Should I play KOTOR (as a good guy) and the Sith Lords before reading it?

^ Hello. You won't be puzzled or anything if you won't play KOTOR 2 (Meetra Surik is the protagonist of that game btw, if you didn't know), events from that game are barely touched in Revan and you can guess how KOTOR 1 as a LS Revan with a chrush on Bastila ends. Individual events from KOTOR 1, like how Revan got to the Star map on Manaan for instance, aren't described in the book.

You will have a greater/deeper understanding of some characters if you play the games though.

Thank you. It won't arrive for a couple weeks. Plenty of time I think right riiiiight? I have Red Harvest, Plageius and the first Bane novel to read first.

I just got this game for the iPad. It's always been my favorite game, and it's been a blast replaying it with a touch screen. I'd love to see more classic SW games re-released like this.
