Very good news! Speculation? The novel will introduce Zannah's apprentice - and poor Bane will die... Crying or Very sad Wink

I think I could handle another book before Bane bites the dust. Seeing the two of them plotting and planning against eachother could be a lot of fun.

And another one bites the dust.

Hmm...I'd hope to see a little more of Bane before he gets terminated. But maybe an introduction to Zannah's apprentice would be fun.

Well Bane has freed himself from the obelisks, so that serves as the opening for his apprentice to kill him. He also needs to complete his holocron and pass on the secret of making them to his apprentice. And Zannah will need an apprentice, though she wouldn't necessarily need one before she kills Bane.

I could see this third novel being the death of Bane. However, I wouldn't mind them prolonging his death a little if he manages to accomplish some great Sithy feats.

I found it almost amusing, his attempting the holocron. Perhaps he could actually accomplish it this time! I'd kind of like to see him triumph. Smile

Finally!
Just a thought, but what if efter the Bane Trilogy, they make a Zannah Trilogy and keep going until they get to a Sidious Trilogy.

I never made it through the second book, but how hard is it to make a holocron? If Quinlain Vos can do it, I'd be embarassed to hear Bane can't (of course, they're separated by 1000 years but still Smile)

That would be very cool if they kept on going with the Sith. I wonder if they would skip 'ahead' after Bane and Zannah and give us the Darth Plagues novel we never got. Smile

Part of the problem was the armor Bane had which magnified his powers and he kept losing control and blowing things up! It was also hard for Bane to make one because no one showed him how - he had to figure it out on his own.

I guess the big question for me is once Bane makes his holocron whats left to for him to do? He has a follower and he has lots of resources to take the fight to the Jedi, will he pursue political power? Start a war?

Well, since the Sith were extinct for a millennia, whatever Bane does needs to stay far below the radar. With that fact, I find it hard seeing trilogies all the way up through Sidious, and since my opinion on Plagueis disagrees with the one in the New Essential Chronology, I was glad that book was canceled, although it was going to be written by James Luceno (they must have given him Millennium Falcon instead).

Thanks for the info., too, commanderbly Smile

It's definitely nice to see that they're going to complete another trilogy, I have the first two books at home but haven't gotten round to reading them yet, though I know the rough details of Bane's ascencion (the Battle of Ruusan, etc.).
Aush, in what way does your opinion on Plagueis differ from that in the NEC?

I saw this video many moons ago and thought it was just brilliant. Their voices are hard to hear, but if you turn up the volume, it's nice voice acting. And despite the fact that they're Legos, I get chills when I watch the Sith and Jedi armies go at one another with all those lightsabers glowing. I mean...we've never seen anything like that before! And even though it's only a couple seconds long, I loved it. Smile

It's certainly not my video, but I don't know where to find it anymore, so I just uploaded it here:

Bane of the Sith

BTW, make sure you fullscreen it. It's much cooler that way. Click the little magnifying glass on the bottom right of the video.

That video was pretty sweet!

As for what Bane has left to do, that's a very interesting question. I imagine he'll have to input his knowledge into the holocron, but mostly it's a matter of planning. Perhaps he'll uncover an ancient Sith secret that mentions being able to "create" the Sithari and thus the long line of of Sith ascension will be a matter of achieving that goal.

Otherwise his plan is simply to wipe out the Jedi Order. Thus he'll need to figure out "how" it should be done and thus work towards that. Perhaps he'll realize the goal is too big to be achieved in one life time, so it will become a task that is handed down until the time is right.

I'm not so sure they would be able to write novels about all the Sith after him. There would be a lot of constraints. They could never let their secret get out. No Jedi could meet them and live. And they'd have to act in the shadows, very low key. That would be hard to write and maintain interest.

That's what I was thinking about. Maybe the reason it was never made was because they wanted to get through the other Sith Lords. Maybe instead of doing all the Sith Lords, at the beginning of a trilogy they could give a brief outline of the Sith that came before. Neat video, by the way. Whoever made it, should make it for other books.
