Actually really enjoying Apocalypse at the moment. Only about 100 pages in, but it's taking me back to the Bantam days. Not sure why, but it's just very nostalgic. Granted...I believe Invincible opened somewhat like this, as well...

However, I shall give it time, and we shall see. Smile

After being disappointed with Darth Plagueis and Apocalypse I want to re-read an old favourite in the near future. I'm not sure which one yet.

Don't get down on it yet, Mara. Wait and see if you like it.

I fail to see how Apocalypse could have disappointed....

The only tiny gripe is the conversation between

Sorry Mara. Don't take my word for it, though. Other people have enjoyed it. Wink

I'm not sure if it was the book itself (heck, there were parts I really enjoyed) or just how it reminded me what a mess Star Wars mythology has become. I also didn't enjoy the first half. Far too much carnage.

Ah, see, I even commented to my sister how violent it seemed for even a Star Wars novel. But being the barbarian I apparently am, I enjoyed it regardless. Something about it felt pure. Straight good versus evil, rather than the complicated mess the plots have turned into. Confused

I'm usually a defender of this kind of story-telling, but in this case the en masse slaughter made me feel sick. It was also just a long stretch where nothing interesting happened. Not much character development, little plot development, and of course I never feared our Sith-skewering heroes would die.
