I like the battle helm idea.

I appreciate irony. That was a big part of the TO. I think we should have at least one story where the treasure turns out to be worthless.

Now, someone earlier suggested using Google Docs for this. I'm not entirely sure how that would work, but that's just my unfamiliarity with the software. It sounds like a good idea, so any advice would be appreciated

Google Docs is an in-browser application that anyone can use if they have a free Google account, and can be accessed by clicking the "Documents" tab on the top of the Google homepage. It's all online and has a word processor comparable to MS Word. Once you've made a document, you can click "Share" to set the privacy options and a link will be prepared to send online. You can set it to where anyone can leave comments on the work, which would be great for a suggestions/proofreading system.

About the treasure, though... Are we all going after one treasure that keeps moving, or are each of us going after different treasures of one origin (Xim) ?

Though I like the helm idea, I do like the idea of going after different aspects of Xim's treasure since it was so large.

I want to write a story featuring the Chiss and I know that pieces of art would be really useful to them or at least one in particular.

I personally prefer the idea of it being one thing that moves around, which unites the stories. But if there's more uptake for several related stories, we can do that. As long as those treasures are still firmly related in a strong and tangible way. That actually allows us to tell individual multiple backgrounds. The treasure my Sith Apprentice and his hired underworld goons find would have a significantly different life story than the item(s) that SidiousThrawn's Chiss scientist/art aficionado finds.

I kind of like that idea now.

What say you all?

Maybe they should just go after "xim's treasure" and we aren't definitely told what it is at the beginning. In some stories the characters have an idea what it is, in others they are trying to find out or maybe they don't know at all but they know where it is, etc. and then the epilogue will be what each persons found or whatever they ended up getting.

Character A got busted by Imperials and the treasure was seized.
Character B gambled it away.
Character C sold it to a wealthy antiques dealer and spent the rest of their time on a galactic pleasure cruise.
Character D opened the treasure chest and found that it contained only a left arm from a protocal droid.
Character E is still looking for Xim's treasure.

DPW do you mean Xim's Treasure is a legend like Blackbeard's?

The idea is to make them stand-alone stories, though...

JJ, I agree.

I've already started my story, before I get too far, I would like to know:

1) Is everyone going after the treasure as a whole or different parts of it?
2) Are we writing about different eras or, are the stories going to take place in the same era?
3) If two is yes, which era?
4) Are the stories going to be stand alone?

Ok, I've made a start on mine, and I need to know where the treasure will be, so whoever is thinking of doing the story before 33 BBY (not immediately before, the latest one in-between 3,647 [Taral's story] and 33 BBY). Thanks.

Here's what I've done in the half-hour I've been working on it. Still rough Any suggestions welcomed.

I was thinking about a Star Wars-y "fish-out-of-water", out-of-place simile, and came up with "a Muun at a Pazaak table", as they're very careful with their money. Can anyone think of a better one?

Like a Mon Calamari on Tatooine,

My group is going after a piece of the treasure not the treasure as a whole.

Thanks.

Whoever doing the story right after mine (looks like Zero's) where do want your treasure to be? Or shall I just have it end up anywhere and then we'll assume someone else we didn't write about moved it?
