Haden Blackman is back with another Darth Vader comic series, The Ghost Prison.

Quote:
"Darth Vader and The Ghost Prison tells the story of one of the earliest attempts to assassinate the Emperor, and the lengths that Darth Vader, Moff Trachta, and a young, eager lieutenant will go to in order to protect Palpatine."

Moff Trachta?? YES! Coolest character in "Empire: Betrayal."

Anyone else see the irony that Tracheta was trying to assassinate Palpy in his only other appearance?

This should be interesting.

First issue of this is out today! I haven't been able to pick up my copy but they're holding it for me. Anyone get a chance to read it yet?

And Dark Horse has a preview : http://www.darkhorse.com/Comics/Previews/19-796?page=0

I'm definitely looking forward to this.

I haven't picked mine up yet, but I wanted to flag this:
http://ca.ign.com/articles/2012/05/24/star-wars-darth-vader-and-the-ghost-prison-1-review

Joey Esposito is one of the comic reviewers over at IGN. He runs a podcast called "IGN Assemble!" that I listen to every week.

Star Wars comics never get good publicity by the big-boys in comics. They almost never make it into the Top 50 bestselling comics of any given month. Most comic book reviewers go where the money is, and review the books that are popular (the ones put out my Marvel or DC, mostly). So it's incredibly rare that a Star Wars comic gets singled out and reviewed so well. Mr. Esposito even tweeted about it, which is also rare.

These are good signs Smile

Really?

That surprised me a fair bit actually. I would have thought with the number of Star Wars fans tthat they'd be pretty high up there.

There's tons of us but Batman and Spider-Man have older, more long-running fans and they will buy whatever comes out related to it.

I had an image in mind of a 100 year old Sheldon Cooper walking into the comic store ...

I must admit that I wasn't too impressed with what I was hearing about this comic book series. With all this good press I'll have to delve deeper, possibly re-evaluate my position.

This first issue was great, and I can't wait for more.

It also doesn't hurt that Haden Blackman writes one of my other favorite comics right now, Batwoman.

This man needs to write more, he's a really good writer.
