From Gamespy:

Quote:
Posting on the official Star Wars Facebook page, LucasArts wrote: "What is something that will be announced by Spike, fully unveiled at the E3 Expo, and has to do with Star Wars gaming? The answer to the riddle will be yours - tune into Spike this May 31st at 10pm PST."

Awful riddles aside, t's worth noting this appears to be the first Star Wars game created in-house by LucasArts since The Force Unleashed 2, and more importantly, since Paul Meegan took over the studio and cleaned house. Meegan became president of LucasArts in June 2010, and shortly thereafter laid off a large portion of the gaming studio's staff. He also cancelled an unannounced Star Wars game (believed to be a new Battlefront) already in pre-production.

Any ideas as to what it might be?

It'll be DLC for TOR. I can almost guarantee it.

That...will be incredibly disappointing. Sad

As always, I'll be hoping it's a true Battlefront III.

Unfortunately it'll probably be "Star Wars Move" or what Caedus said... Confused

Game Informer wrote about it. I know this is awful sourcing, but I seem to remember someone saying they read that it's be a new franchise.

I still vote for open-world bounty hunter RPG.

I'd like to think that it's a spiritual successor to the X-Wing/TIE Fighter series.

That would fit the criteria of something that fans want, while also meeting the strict definition of "new franchise" (since anything set in the prequel era, for example, couldn't be called "X-Wing").

Alternatively, it might be a Rogue Squadron game for the Wii U. I remember a long time ago Wookieepedia posting a news story about a possible Rogue Squadron game for the Wii, but it never developed. With the Wii U coming soon, it would be a good idea to have a Star Wars title at launch for it. And wouldn't it be cool to use the little controller-screen as a targeting computer? I'd play that.

I'm betting something along the lines of the TIE-Fighter/X-Wing games. These were good games!!

Whatever they do, I hope they will make it for the Wii. If they make it for the computer, I hope that it will be a one-time fee instead of like KOR where you have to buy the game and then have a monthly subscription fee to play it on-line.

Now that it's been mentioned, I'm really hoping it's an X-Wing game. That would be awesome. Would nicely tie-in with their publishing arm too.

If you're hoping for a sequel to one of your old favorite Star Wars games, then you might as well just go ahead and get pissed off and disappointed now, as opposed to when they unveil the game.

I'm hoping for an X-Wing successor. I kind of wonder what a PT based X-Wing style game would be called though as there was no iconic craft that made it through the whole series. They could have used the N-1 but they dropped the ball on that. Clone Wars fighters are so mixed that you don't have an iconic fighter that represents the entire Clone Wars in both the movies and EU (except for the LAAT no Clone Wars ship is in both movies, but then it's not a fighter).

I hope to god it has nothing to do with the MMO or another Force Unleashed, maybe it'll be something worth waiting all these years for.

They had "Battle for Naboo," which was an Episode I version of X-Wing: Rogue Squadron. And... it was just kinda meh.

0:39-0:44: Some TOR stuff, something that looks from Star Wars Kinect, and Maybe Battlefront III?"

Honestly, My money is on Battlefront III, or a flight game.
