I don't buy hardcovers so I can't check the exact quote from the book, but I believe she specifically asked them to produce "fellow" sith (or something of the like) that strongly implied LTOTS rather than the OS. Again, I can't check, but I'm pretty sure it was phrased in such a way as to leave open the possibility of other non-Lost-Tribe sith being on planet.

Lost Tribe? I don't seem to remember it being clear. Surely they couldn't all have died in the battle on Coruscant.

I think that most of those who went to Coruscant were killed, but that was only some of their forces. So there still are a large number of Lost Sith at their homeworld. What kind of shape they are in, they never showed.

I think they said 5000 Sith went to Coruscant, a lot of them died. Some remain causing trouble. The rest of the tribe is still on Kesh. Nothing was mentioned about them so we have no idea if they plan on leaving or staying. Since the Jedi don't know where Kesh is, there isn't any direct threats against them yet.

I personally suspect that the remnants of the lost tribe, which would still be a couple thousandish (up to 5 thousand by my guess) will be an ongoing set of villians in the next few novels to give some continuity and a central theme as the Empire was for most of the Bantum Novels, even if they aren't always the primary focus of the novels.


But yes, there's still a lot of them around to deal with.

I guess it's pretty much set in stone that the Jedi vs. Sith conflict will be the norm after Apocalypse. I'm not too happy about this. The Jedi need more variety in their villains. Why not use Bounty Hunters, crime cartels, or make up something completely new like they did with the Vong?

I tend to agree, but realisticaly, how long can they drag out the LTOTS battles? No enemy has lasted longer than about 5 years (in universe) since the Clone Wars. The "Empire" doesn't really count because the leader changed every 5 years or less.

Admittedly, with the LTOTS comic coming out, it seems that they're preparing for a somewhat longer run with these guys as the villians, but that doesn't mean its going to last for much more than another 10ish books. Which is about the lifespan of any good villian in-universe.

Also, even if the LTOTS do stick around for a while, there's no reason there can't be explorations of other bad guys within the same period. Look at I Jedi, the Corellian Trilogy, Darksaber, Planet of Twilight...etc. All occur when the Empire is still the major villain, but that part of the conflict rarely (if ever) appears. There's plenty of space for them to have multiple villains at the same time. Especially if there's no galaxy-spanning threat (which is apparently their intent for the next little while).

From this, I'd infer that the Legacy comics are still canon. Darth Krayt's early appearance (assuming it's him) in Apocalypse didn't change anything.

I don't know. It sounds up in there to me. The "future is always in motion thing" and all. It sounds to me like they're heading in the direction of Legacy, but isn't set in stone. They're not going out and saying it isn't canon, but they want to leave the door open. I doubt they're sure themselves.

Plus even if it IS in the future Krayt revealing himself this early makes absolutely no sense. He hid through the Vong war and that was more of a threat, Abeloth wasn't fully revealed till the very end and he comes out for THAT? Ugh, they weren't even trying, it was a pointless and more harmful cameo than a good buildup.
