Splinter Of The Minds Eye

So i occasionally go to goodwill and will buy used Star Wars books. I found a copy of a book called "Splinter of the Eyes Mind." i had never heard of this book before. I have not yet been able to read it due to a busy life. Does anyone have any info about it? I read somewhere it was supposed to be a sequel to the original movie? Thanks!

I have this book, but I've never read it. It's actually one of the first Star Wars things that I bought. I found it at a garage sale.

I've read it and I wish I hadn't. Really, it's the worse star wars book I've ever read. Luckily, if you really feel like you need to read it it's short so it doesn't take long. And it is a sequel to episode 4

I remember it being ok.

It's far from the worst star wars novel, but it's also far from the best.

It's an enjoyable read, that fits well with continuity, and adds some depth to certain characters, while introducing a variety of continuity points that were later expounded on by other sources.

It's not essential, but its fun.

It's the first EU story. I've never read the novel version, but I did read the comic version and I enjoyed that. Leia fights Vader with a light saber, Luke chops off Vader's arm, which is cool because you know that Vader end up chopping off Luke's hand, and it has Cthulhu. What more do you want?

It's a very enjoyable book. You do need to stretch the imagination a little if you've already read other EU books, but remember this was one of the first Star Wars novels. Rules had not quite been established. So everything's a little wonky. Fun story, though. Smile

It's a good book up until the last 30 pages. Then the whole story falls apart. Go into it not expecting much (Re: There is NO continuity from anything post Episode IV, so keep that in mind) and you'll probably enjoy it.

I wish Alan Dean Foster would maybe revisit the book and re-write it with updated characterizations and an improved ending. Because the rest of the book is actually enjoyable.
