Haydyn Christensen did an excellent job in a movie called Shattered Glass. Honestly, I was surprised at what a good job he did, but I'm going to give him kudos when he's earned it.

That one was awesome! Really both him and Portman are talented as heck, but in SW they were given nothing to work with and tossed in front of a green screen, its hard to perform that way.

Which should only serve to highlight what a truly excellent actor Ewan McGregor is. He took that bad dialogue and made it golden. I know a lot of people think Ian McDiarmid was the greatest, but it's so much easier to play a bad guy than make a noble hero believable and relate-able. Both McGregor and Guiness accomplished that with Obi-Wan.

I loved McDiarmid, but Ewan definitely had the best overall acting talent in the PT. He gave a near flawless performance. I think McDiarmid had a difficult villain though. Most villains are conflicted or deep or have a tragic backstory. Palps was legitimately evil. He did what the others couldn't with what he had.

Christensen was also in Jumper. Just a movie about a sweatshirt that gets into a crazy adventure.

I liked the movie Awake he (Christensen) was in. He did an OK job in that one IMO.

Portmans acting in E.III was better than in Ep1-2. If you turn off the sound and just watch the facial expressions you'll see what I mean. Granted that this may be because the scenes in E.III were more emotional than those in E.I&II, even if E.II was supposed to be "the love story" of the PT.

The dialogue is what killed these characters in the movies. It's a shame.

Agreed, it pretty much ruined the entirety of Episode II, which IMHO was really only the true stinker of the PT. Revenge of the Sith was pretty good, and the Phantom Menace was okay, but too much fleshing out of the backstory and politics. Plus they killed off the best character in the first movie :\

Episode II was so bad though that it should really just be re-made. Terrible, awful movie.

Huh, I was not expecting the overwhelming Obi-Wan support.

If we were just talking The Clone Wars tv show, would everyone's answers be the same? I think Obi-Wan would probably still be my favorite.

Obi-Wan by far and away. Ewan McGregor put on one of the best performances in the saga for sure. Too bad he didn't have much support like Harrison Ford did in the Original Trilogy.

I prefer Obi-wan. I also love Rots. at the end where he yells to anakin, "you were the chosen one. It was said that you would destroy the sith, not join them. Bring balance to the force, not leave it in darkness."

That part was one of the big reasons why I struggled not to chose Obi-Wan as my favorite prequel character. But as always, my soft spot for Ani overpowered Ewan McGregor's awesome acting. Smile
