Apparently that's not true. We accounted for leap years when we synchronized the Mayan and Gregorian calendars. However, a recent discovery in Guatemala hints that the Mayan Calendar goes long past 2012: Link (Which is what people have been saying all along. Now we just have proof)

One more thing that debunks the Mayan calender end of the world prediction (like another one is needed): the modern day Mayan (yes, they still exist) council says it's rubbish.

Since new year's eve of 1998 we have had like 20+ "world ending" things. About one and a half apocalypse a year and the trend doesn't seem to stop. I congratulate you all an makeing it through. We so rock! I mean how many generations survived 20+ world endings. Razz

Laughing . I don't know about 20+ world endings, but there have been quite a few such predictions in long distant years. Most of which are probably lost to time, so there may have been much more than I'm aware of. One of my favourites was known as 'The Great Disappointment' Laughing .

Dang it.

One other thing that I read concerning Nostradamus's predictions was that, yes, he predicted calamity in 2012, but he also predicted calamity in years after 2012. Of course, those predictions wouldn't come to pass if the world was destroyed in 2012.

I've heard that some clubs/bars/and alike are organising end of the world party theme each time someone predicts the end of the world. What exactly does one wear on end of the word party?

Well, you know...I wouldn't necessarily recommend or attempt such a thing. So...the fact that I thought it seemed appropriate just seemed...off. Wink

well I know how the EUC regulars will be celebrating the end of the world on the forum in December Wink

EDIT: that's assuming we decide that an end of the world forum party is a good idea

I'm for it.

There were only two apocalypses this year that I know of, and quite frankly both were a disappointment. A world ending year like 2012.... I was expecting much more creativity from the "prophets".

I'm surprised at how little this has been talked about for the last few days. I thought it would be all over the place like it was two years ago, but people seem to have lost all interest in it.
