I come from a town of 5K, most of who are imprisoned in the state reformatory (now that's a small town, but there are smaller in the Midwest yet!) I didn't think I'd ever want to leave the house, but now that I've been out off and on for the past three years, I dread going back on some days. I can't wait to have my own permanent place! Smile

The town I grew up in was around 3,000-5,000 at the time. I think it's around 7,000 or so now. But the next town up is only 300, and the one above that is just 150. Now those are fairly small. Just a bar and a gas station.

I live in the suburbs of Tampa so it's a pretty big area. No small towns in my area.

Aw, poor Kal. *pats shoulder* I do hope you're feeling better now. And I live in Covington, which says from a 2005 census is population 9,347. That sounds small. But our whole Parish, which is more of what I consider my 'town' (since I travel the whole thing constantly), is 230,000.

Well I live in DC now - we have more people than the whole state of Montana! I grew up in a small town in CT. Now my wife and I are ready to say good bye to city living for something more in the middle. We would love to move back to Portland OR where we went to college or CO.

I live in Connecticut, grew up in Manhattan and the Bronx, small towns are beyond my understanding. I have no context, even when I visit my brother and sister in Florida, it's in the Fort Lauderdale area. But back on subject, eventually we must all leave the nest. It is not to be feared, but neither are you to leave the nest before you are fully prepared to do so. And with that nugget of wisdom, the old man bows out yet again!Smile

Did not realize Wookiees lived in nests. Tree, yes, but nests, I did not know.
