Honestly, I think Crowe is a way better actor than Bale. Remember Terminator? Bale was awful. And the badguys have been outshining Bale in the Batman movies.

I can't agree there. I haven't seen the latest Terminator so no comment, but Bale has been really good in everything I've seen him in. Heath Ledger gave a better performance than Bale in TDK, but I think Bale outperformed Liam Neeson (at least in Batman Begins), Cilian Murphy, and Tom Hardy.

He's also really versatile. His characters in Batman, The Prestige, 3:10 To Yuma, and The Fighter (probably his best performance) are totally different. Whereas Crowe's characters are all pretty much the same.

Bale was fine in T4. The script on the other hand, not so much. It wasn't his fault.

Well, it kind of was because he was offered the role of Marcus, the real lead, but he wanted to play Connor instead, which had a lessor role in that film.

Classic case of Hollywood greed? I admit I can't see the point in this ... and I thought the concept of the 'bridge' film had been axed.

I'm not exactly sure how they're going to stretch The Hobbit out to three films. Draw from the Similarion, I suppose. How they're going to tie it all together into a solid narrative, I don't know.

So Peter Jackson decided to do a trilogy of films that takes place before his already-existing trilogy of films? Where have I heard this before? Wink

I've read the Hobbit, I don't think there's enough that happened that could be stretched into three films. At least, not in a good way Confused

It will be mixed with the stuff about Necromancer being driven out by the White Council. I think they're stretching, but the original trilogy went so well that I'm willing to go on a little faith with this.

I'm willing to trust them a bit as well, but I'm a little leery.

Well if he pulls it off, he can brag that his prequels are better than George's prequels. Laughing

I really don't get how another film can simply be tacked on at the end when the other two were already planned out. Will it just be a really long epilogue or something? Confused

I'm not panicking yet, but I'm feeling pretty doubtful right now.

That says it all Smile

I'll probably see the three Hobbit films. Probably not opening day. Frankly I might wait for Cheap Tuesday three weeks down the line. But I'll see them.

Hopefully the fact that there's a third movie doesn't mean that the ending takes place in the middle of a three hour movie, leaving 90 minutes of endings.

Finally saw Captain America: The First Avenger. I thought it was decent, but I felt like I had to suspend too much disbelief as opposed to Iron Man. It was good overall, though.

With that, I've seen all of the Avengers films. I'll now rank them from best to worst:

1. The Avengers
2. Iron Man
3. Iron Man 2
4. Captain America
5. The Incredible Hulk
6. Thor

I would have tossed Iron Man 2 at the bottom...tossed the whole movie out completely actually, it was just bad to me...

I have to agree. It had great potential but the end was just completely anticlimactic. I would have put Thor much higher too.

Maybe:
1. The Avengers
2. Iron Man
3. Thor
4. Captain America
5. Iron Man 2
6. The Incredible Hulk
