A giant yellow orb is in the sky and making things feel all nice and warm. Apparently it is called "the sun" and in most parts of the world the light transmitted is bright enough to require the wearing of "sun glasses" on a regular basis (translation from "New Yorkese" Razz : 60-70 degrees and sunny). My body is still adjusting to these odd phenomenon.

This morning I arrived to work around 9:30, and the morning was incredibly humid. The air was so wet my papers and notebooks were getting soggy. Literally.

I quite hoped the sun would come out and burn the humidity away. Not 2 hours later I went outside to discover that the sun had indeed come out, blazingly so, and it is now a comfortable 89 degrees. Yay for Louisiana. Wink

I don't envy your humidity but I do envy your warm weather. Up in New York we've literally had cases where it was 70s-80s one day and then 20s-30s the next. We've even had a few snow storms. Shocked

I don't mind the cold but I do like consistency where I know whether I need no jacket, light jacket, or winter jacket.

It's beautiful and sunny. I want it to be dull and rainy so that I don't hate myself for not going outside.

Walking to school, about 18-20 degrees Celsius and I see a 20 y/o dude riding a scooter (like a kiddie foot-scooter, not a motorbike-type thing) wearing board shorts and flip flops. Way to take advantage Laughing

I've a South African friend who wears shorts no matter the weather. I ran into him last time it snowed - still wearing them!

You want a thunderstorm? Hoping for pictures or just like the sound of thunder?

I love the sound of thunder!

Actually, it depends on the type. I don't especially like the loud cracks, but I love the low growls. It sounds like something from another world. Cool

So specific hurricane predictions have never been very reliable, which has to make me wonder if we're getting ready to get wiped off the map. Again. Because for some reason this has a Katrina feel. Confused

Yeah it does feel very Katrina-esque, but it has a different path and it doesn't look like it will get as strong. I know anything could change but I wouldn't start panicking yet.
